2005

December 2005 was a very hectic time for Phoenix Online Studios. After three months of hard work, the team was granted permission from Vivendi Games, Inc. to continue development on the game, but under the new name of "The Silver Lining".

Given that it is extremely rare for a fan-group to be granted permission after a cease & desist request, the press had dozens of questions about our experience and what Phoenix Online Studios plans are, now that the game is legal.

On December 9th, MTV News, IGN and 1UP alerted the masses with the good news. The MTV News article written by Stephen Tolio was the first one to announce our successful negotiations with Vivendi. The IGN article written by David Adams and the 1UP article written by Patrick Klepek described the unruly process and overall outcome.

In the GameSpy interview with Allen "Delsyn" Rausch released on December 16th, Saydmell Salazar and César Bittar share many things about the game, team, and personal experience with Vivendi. The interview also features many exclusive and unreleased in-game screenshots.
