Hi
I lost all of my save games when updating my MacBook Pro to the new OS X Mavericks (yikes!).
I'm in Chapter 6 visiting a lady in her house (lest I leak any spoilers).
I don't know if they are lost or just somewhere else on my hard drive?
Interestingly enough, the cut scenes up and until Chapter 5 are still there....

This one's an unfortunate side effect of the Mac updating process. The system forces us to store saved games in the caches folder, which by default is emptied during that process.
I've attached a save here which is fairly close to the point where you are.
You may need to start up the game normally and just save your game anywhere to recreate the folder structure where saves go, so that you can put this one into that same folder here:
users/(username)/library/caches

However, I'm unable to find the directory on my hard drive as you explained.
Could it be that Maverick has a new structure?
Any clues where I can search? (nothing came up when I searched for the new save games that I created after starting a new game at Rector's Antiques)

Which directory are you unable to find? I use Mavericks myself and that's definitely the correct path. How far into that path are you able to see?

Thanks for your help with this.
I found the problem.
On my mac (and probably as 'default setting') the library folder is hidden.
So I used this phrase/formula/sentence in terminal to 'un-hide' it : chflags nohidden ~/Library
(for the edification of anyone else facing the same problem after a 'maverick' update)
