Title: Website
Post by: BoardnationArchive on October 25, 2003, 05:27:30 PM
Laros:
Just wondering when the website will be updated again, Even just short messages letting us know that there is progress being made would be good.  A new flash preview would be even better, but that would probably take too much time.

oldbushie:
There will be a new intro, once they get the voices done. The animation is already done, but they won't release it with Cesar's voice.

Yonkey:
Actually the website is constantly being updated in various placed.  One of the places is another forum, which isn't visible to the public yet.   The Links section was also updated recently.

As for progress updates, you'll have to wait for the directors to post those.  But I can say that this past month (September) the team was more productive than ever!  Things have slowed down a bit, due to school, exams, etc. but they are still moving well.

I'm still working on the new flash preview but I believe it's scheduled to appear in March.

You alone are working on the flash preview? So that's why it'll only be ready in March!

sounds good, but it would still be nice to see new updates on the main page, for example, "the links page has been updated" or something like that.  Anyway, thanks for the answer, and I'm looking forward to the new intro.

BTW, can ayone give an estimate of how many years it might take to finish the game?  I know that none of you know how long it will definetly take, but you must have a guess for at least how many years.

are you going to release a 3D trailer at some stage? Like for xbox games etc...

I thought their last estimate was somewhere at the end of 2004-beginning of 2005....

I fail to see a connection between '3D-trailer' and 'xbox-games'.

Well, it won't be completed by me alone.  Cesar is helping me with some of the stuff, but right now all I'm making are prototypes/templates.  The real artwork, music, voices and writing will be substituted into what I'm doing right now.  So eventually there will be a lot more people working on it.

Well, I prefer keeping people informed of major updates rather than minor ones.  But, I will consider your suggestion next time I update content.

Don't forget a warning.  Something like:
Watching this trailer may be dangerous to your health.  Consult your doctor before watching.
Title: Re:Website

Yonkey:
think you should also consult a doctor after watching: a psychiatrist.

EDIT: I had "psychologist" before... always get those 2 mixed up.

OMG! CESAR!  hello silly you. Your famous once again in the forums, everyone is talking about you.

the problem about recording with our voice is the fact we are not such excellent actors like you !! , we would need to practice for months to get that perfect tone and emotions and stuff... lol,

You really should release the Flash with Cesar doing the voices. It would be a shame if it goes to waste instead of entertaining us
And Say can join in as well! the more the merrier

Ooh! Spiffy!!!!

Too bad the only scanner I have access to is at home, about 45 miles from my dorm... I'd like to be an interface artist perhaps. And I'm very good at creating meticulous computer art without tracing over any initial sketches. My S symbol was entirely done in MSPaint, and was only based on a sketch of mine, not traced at all.

Nice...  ;D
I'm still waiting around for more art though  ;)

Does the big ad means you're short-staffed?  :o
Title: Re:Worst-case scenario
Post by: copycat on November 01, 2003, 03:08:32 PM
There's a scanner downstairs, so that's no problem, but me, being all analytical, means I have absolutely no knowledge of anything in art. What would happen if the vacancies did not get 'filled'? Do you have a worst-case scenario and would that lead to such a scenario?

PS. My current worst-case scenario at work has been postponed a year. It'll now happen in the beginning of 2005, not 2004. ::)
Title: Re:Website
Post by: Yonkey on November 01, 2003, 03:14:16 PM
Well, in the worst case the current people on the team would just be doing more work overall.  If more people are hired, it just lowers their overall workload.  The deadlines were made using the current staff, then get adjusted when someone new join the team.  :)

So the positions being filled or not aren't affecting our deadlines.  They get affected when people quit, get fired or just disappear and don't finish their tasks.   ::)
