Title: A fix for TOO FAST animation \ skipping
Post by: Nitro187 on October 22, 2006, 09:32:34 PM
This should be posted on the main page.  I have found a fix for people who have AMD X2 chips, the ones with dual core.  The reason for your fast animation \ narriator skipping is because the engine in this game does not properly time well, and relies on the processor to do it for it.  This causes the game to move faster than it should, and also skip parts as well.  This is also noticable in GTA: San Andreas,  FlatOut 2, and other commercially available games.  To fix this problem, download this utility:

Utility (http://www.amd.com/us-en/assets/content_type/utilities/Setup.exe)

It's available at AMD's utility website, as the first utility listed:

Utility Website (http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/TechnicalResources/0,,30_182_871_9706,00.html)

This should be installed on any gaming machine that has the AMD X2 processor.  Enjoy!  And don't forget to mention this on the main page, for new visitors, as I was almost turned off by this game... until I just recently said "It may be this"  after finding out it was messing up my game of GTA: SA.

Enjoy!

Thank you for the link. I had been aware of the speed problems caused by dual-SLI video cards, but not this.
