Patch error...
So I have installed the game and was playing, but there are two people that I don't seem allowed to say goodbye to after I finish talking to them. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is it apart of the game or an error?

currently playing. ;D And getting stumped already. But I'll figure it out I'm sure. May have to start over as I'm having that conversation bug and I don't know if I can progress through the episode by ignoring the conversations with that issue. If I start the episode from the beginning does that mean I lose all of my inventory from the past episodes?
Starting a new game in Episode 3 means that the game will assume you have completed the tasks essential to completing the previous Episodes--but no more than that. So it is possible you'll lose some inventory items, and a few conversations will be reset to not having happened. But, you won't get stuck in the conversations with any characters in this Episode and be missing out on anything.
I'd recommend starting a new game in Episode 3, personally--that way you can experience it all without worrying! :)
I'm still downloading, it;s been about 3 hours now but at least I have the comfort of knowing other network users are sleeping so I'm not causing their Internet to lag. I'm using a university network and am dowloading this big file at night to avoid causing problems for them. It's 4:50am. I have at least 3 more hours befre traffic picks up again but it should finish downloadin in 1-2 hours at most.
Small price to pay for the joy of adventuring, methinks.
though I will probably be wiser this time and keep this installer. Hopefully I will be able to patch future episodes without any conflict for I certainly will not dare download a 2GB file
I actually downloaded the patch and it seemed to freeze while patching. Re-downloading the patch, only takes me 10-12 mins to get it which is nice.

I'm downloading the full kit again. The patch came through corrupt T.T It's gonna take an hour. I might go have a nap...
I've played a little bit of it. Had some installing issues but now that's fixed. for now I'm going back to bed and will play later.

The patch doesn't even work, it just does nothing for 4 hours. A new patch needs to be done. I am having to download the full installer since the patch doesn't work.
The patch I downloaded said "error validating" and then quit. I will try downloading the full deal and trying again later.

If you're having issues with the patch I recommend coming over to the tech support area to see what the status on fixes is there - we removed the bad patch that was on one of the mirrors and we're working on resolving a now clear issue with getting it to run on XP machines in general.

DragonsQuest, replay the game, and take your time. Interact with all the characters; go through all the conversations. You never know what you may find ;) Of course, we're very happy you couldn't stop. The plot, in my opinion, is very engaging, isn't it?

Yes, it is. To be honest, the previous two episodes didn't hold me like this one did; I wouldn't have stopped playing yesterday if I didn't have to. This is very encouraging.

Yeah, we've been noticing some stability issues, and we're scrambling around trying to fix everything. Even up to release we noticed some issues. One of the best episodes of the entire series is experiencing the worst possible stability issues.
Waiting for a new release of the Patch for Episode 3 that will work with Windows XP.

I tried to talk to all the characters as much as possible the first time through, but maybe I'll find something different this time. The plot was really engaging, and I can't wait to see where it goes in the end.

XD I'm in the same boat. I haven't beaten it for one main reason: I don't have the time. My life has been getting demanding on me. I have, however, gotten as far as [spoiler]the tower sequence.[/spoiler]
