Hello everyone,
First of all I am extremely excited about playing King's Quest again, as I am sure everyone here is.
I want a hint as to why I am stuck in Episode 2 but I DON'T want a giveaway!!! As suttle hints as possible please!
I have gone to the castle and talked to Edward. I have gone to the library and read all the books and got the fake arm from Jallo. I have gone to the market place, gotten candy and gotten the fishing pole, read the Four Winds, and got venom from the spider into the fake arm. I also can't remember where I found the spary bottle but I have that, and the necklace. I attached the necklace to the fishing pole. Doesnt let me catch a mermaid (yet?).
I filled up the bottle with salt water and sprayed down the vines, and used the magnet to get the key to chess land. I obtained the lock. I got hole in the wall, and got the cup. I filled up the cup with fountain water (not sure if youre supposed to do this). I also have the nightshade flower (and read 4 books in the library - nightshade, mermaid, at the two folklores). I am lost.
I feel like I have tried EVERYTHING. I also pressed the lock on the thing in the marketplace and that laughing head came out - which confuses me MOST OF ALL. what the hell is that thing?! Oh I also have the cloak. I think I listed everything.
I have a few things in mind for what to do next, someone tell me if I'm on the right track or not...
-wake up the oysters somehow
-get iceburg lettuce
-the beheading place in chess land - i notice you can climb up on top of it, but when i try to touch the blade i just come down.
-general chessland, do i get hole in the wall back?
-i feel like there are things to do in the marketplace... maybe something to do with the fountain, map owner and lamp owner... also want to get rid of the web
-when i sit on the bench by the sailing area i note the bonsai tree, and when i sit in the chair in wonderland i note the dead plant...
-that damn knight in the castle

Welcome! You've done quite a bit there :) Oh, and the laughing head is part of an Easter Egg--he's called the Suffer, and we like to use him when people ask for spoilers. ;) :suffer: See?
Some of those notions you don't need to explore in Episode 2, but good taking in of a lot of details and hints for things you'll do eventually.
Right now, it sounds like you need to know where to go next. Who might know where to catch a mermaid?

Well Hussan (sp?) is the one that is obvious to talk to about the mermaids. But the only topic conversation is to sail. And his first mate doesnt say much either. Clicking the pole + necklace on his does not work. I've read the book in the library.
I've tried fishing, touching the water... I've tried talking to him about it on every Island. :( what am I missing?

Maybe you should try showing that list of ingredients to some people and see if they have any useful information. :)
hehe thanks. now i feel silly. next time i ask for hints tell me to figure it out myself. it's like eating a donut and then regretting it. lol
How do I find the Suffer in episode 2, not 3?
I read that I have to press the lock on something in the marketplace. Can you elaborate? :suffer:

Would you please tell me: Am I supposed to click the lock from the Isle of Wonder on something in the marketplace or is it something else?
I clicked the lock from the Isle of Wonder on doors, chests, and so forth in the marketplace. By like calls to like, I am guessing I need to click the lock from the the Isle of Wonder on a lock in the marketplace? Please give me a little more direction. At this point I am not too worried about spoilers, just feeding curiosity.

I got it now. Thank you for your help. I didn't even notice that while I was playing the game.
Now I am officially done and I will wait for episode 4.
