Title: Re:How frequently do the pin-up topics change
Post by: Say on April 22, 2004, 09:19:49 PM
this goes though me personally, the threads that are sticky are because they are:

1.- frequently question, or hot topics related to kq9

2.- very common or greatly accepted by the kq9 community

3.- because I decided to make to make it sticky

they do not rotate, they can be or not, as well as we dont delete threads because post counts matters for our fans around here, we just lock threads, normally mod, and sticky the ones that we consider should go sticky, if locked they go unstick, but that means they wont be unlocked.

It's too bad there aren't any "real" pin-up topics in this forum... I'd love to look at those! ;-D

That's what the "ugly mag" thread is for ;)

Sticky threads are good... but there shouldn't be too many of them or they clog the first page of the section  8)

Pin-up is the same thing as sticky, Rob.  It's just....not the same wording...or something.....
Sticky sounds better though. :)

You innocent folk. ;)

"Pin-up" is slang for a picture of a good-looking person, especially one who's in a "sexy" pose in the picture. (As in, that picture's so alluring, you're going to "pin it up" on your wall.) Traditionally refers to pictures of attractive women, though the concept could feasibly apply to ones of attractive men as well.

Well... you were close, Questie, in that the original poster obviously meant sticky topics. Unfortunately for him, he chose a term that has an inappropriate meaning that I could latch on to. ;)

How about only having one pin-up topic to prevent the first page from being overrun with pin-up topics.

It is not overrun so I dont see the specific need on that suggestion, I pin up the according as I suggested above to keep the flow into a core focus spot which is the main strategy settled on the kq9 forums, with a strong highlight of the threads that will allow the community members participate the most.

Maybe a pinup topic linking to all the important topics? ;B

It's fine the way things are, I think.

Being this the second time I reply to this I dont consider I should keep this thread going on for you to ask a third time. Consider this thread locked.
