Title: Can't buy a map.
Post by: timkrause1979 on July 16, 2011, 10:28:13 AM
I was a bit stuck on the second episode so I looked at the walkthrough and I'm supposed to buy a map from the guy in the market at the isle of the crown.  I try to offer him gold for a map and the game won't let me do anything there.  Is there a bug here?

Did anybody tell you to buy a map from him yet?  Unless someone has specifically told you that you need another map then Graham wouldn't have a need for one - Hassan knows his way around well enough.

For a more direction solution:
Show your magic scroll to the owner of the bookshop and he will tell you to bring him a map.  Then you can buy one to bring to him.
Do you happen to have a saved game from before you showed your list to Ali?  It's really odd that it's not working for you to give gold to the mapmaker.  Maybe try posting your savegame here as an attachment and I can take a look at it.

how  exactly do you attach  a saved game?

When you click to reply to a post, at the bottom of the new window there is an "Additional Options" thing you can click on.  Click on that and it'll expand the window a bit with an option where you can browse your computer for a file to attach.  Click on that Browse button and then go to the folder on your computer where you installed the game - inside that there's a Saves folder and your saved game will be in there.  There will be two files with the name you gave the game, one is just a picture of where you saved the game and the other is the actual save itself.  If you can't tell which is which go ahead and attach them both to a post and I'll take a look for you.
