There seems to be an odd issue that some people have run into where a number of characters are missing in Episode 4. The easy one to notice as missing is the old man trading lamps in the marketplace. If you don't see him or during the opening scenes Graham or Rosella are just standing around not doing anything then it looks like you've run into the issue. I suspect it has to do with the Episode 4 patch installer running on top of an early release of Episode 3 rather than the final release that we had to fix a couple of outstanding bugs in about two weeks after the first release.
Unfortunately there's not a really simple way to fix this - the resolution is just to completely uninstall The Silver Lining from your computer and then download and install the full four-episode installer instead.
