Title: Re:My 'lame-excuse-to-get-to-know-people' thread!
Post by: Louisiana Night on May 22, 2004, 06:41:57 PM
I like to be the first person to reply to a thread, don't know why. I'm working on a WWII mod(ION) for Savage. I don't like WWII games, with rare(if any) exceptions. I've failed on 2 mod projects so far, so I'm hoping this last one turns out better. I like music/movies/games that most people don't. I dislike music/movies/games that most people like. Example, I think I posted the oldest movie(well, I posted a silent move star anyways), on the Old Movies thread. Example#2 I don't like Half Life, and like FPS(First Person Shooter) games(well, some of them). I tend to pay too much attention to where a person lives/native_location(see name). Also, I don't like talking about myself(obvious by now).

Edit: ION is dead, so nevermind that part of my post.

Neil, good to meet you!  Awright!  Canada is pretty neat!  I'm 23 myself, and not from Canada...  I'm from the US, and I like it here for the most part.   ;D

Oh yeah, maybe I should have said that the "I AM CANADIAN" thing is Molson's (a Canadian beer company's) slogan. ;D  I'm not sure if they play them in the US.  ;P

J-ROC/James:  Nope, I haven't seen your pants...  No, I won't help you look...  I'll have to leave that to someone else with more experience in such issues and a PantsFinder, which I don't own...  As for everything else...  I recently shaved my beard which I like to attend a religious ceremony...  :)

Cool!  I know stuff about people!  *grins*  Jeysie, -I've- got less wavy brown hair [it's actually pretty straight, unless it decides to do something stupid...] and brown eyes...  and I'm shorter than you by an inch, standing at a whopping 5'6"...

Neil...  if I knew more about beer, I may have known that... as is, I've been sober for 23 years of my life...  oh... that's the whole thing!  I don't drink... never have and never will.  :D

Australia, eh James?  I've always wanted to visit there...  I find the australian accent a quite beautiful deviation from the American...  yeah, I'm from the US, Colorado to be exact...

Bob...  A 'small flemish village'?  OOH. AHH!   8)

Cat/Koko - Hey, it's okay...  family restraints and killer robots are some of the things that I accept as excuses...  :)

Alex/Pooh Head...  I sing as well...  Bass to Tenor, generally...  If I had a good vocal microphone I would try to sing for everyone, but as is...  oh well...
Sober is good, bro...  I suggest it wholeheartedly - as pleasant as Say's wet noodle may sound to you, I bet she'd substitute it with something far worse, like a herring or a small pink rabbit with sharp claws...  just remember the rabbit, and stay sober!

Kimmie, you've got cats?  hrmph, now I can never stalk you!  My cat-allergies are awful!  And I must say, Egyptology is pretty neat...  one of the professors in my college did that for a living, and still does recreations on the computer...  cool guy.

Jael/da Lizmeister - What's with the girls with the thing for guys with glasses?  N-not that I mind all that much, 'cause I wear glasses and don't mind undying affection from... someone...  Oh!  A third-person reference person!  I tend to do that as well, and am avoiding typing in the third person as we 'speak' to try to retain some semblance of sanity...  :)  And I think some of our first technology came way back when Gutenberg invented the printing press [thank goodness for him!] - I love books, but I don't do as much reading as I used to...

Lessee... did I miss anyone?  Don't think so...  if I did, just don't send clowns to get me, for they are evil and their noses squeak when they walk.

Okay!

Tolin: Aw, poo, I can't stalk *you* with the cat thing either. ;) Life just wouldn't be the same without having a little fuzzy feline around... especially my current fuzzy feline.

As for guys with glasses... hee, I figured I was the only one, 'til I came here. :D I guess maybe it's because I think they make a fellow look intelligent and distinguished. Intellectually I know that needing to wear glasses and being intelligent and distinguished don't always go together, but try telling that to my hormones. ;)

Then there's always the fact that my looks don't matter after they take their glasses off. ('Cause they can't see me in detail!) I'll take what I can get. ;P

Koko, that's plenty, really...  unless you want to share any sort of otherworldly heritage that you've been hiding this whole time...  *suspicious looks*

heh... just kidding...

Jeysie... well, heck... no stalking huh?  darn.
I really do like animals a lot... but my body actively protests by closing my air passages slowly and making me need water and fresh air pretty quickly...  I could stand being around cats for a little while, but prolonged exposure and I just get sick and puffy all the time...

"But... you're -supposed- to stalk me!  It's how the script goes!  Come on, get with it!"

hehe...

intelligent and distinguished...  I suppose I can be that at times  ;)    as for talking to your hormones about such things... they tend to be very stubborn about what they do, extremely set in their ways...

And...  my glasses are still mostly correctional...  I can see pretty much just fine without them...  :)

I'm a SWM seeking SF for long walks on the beach. XB

Seriously, though, I am a slightly addled, strange little man with a desire to love and cherish whoever my future wife becomes, and I have a childlike (and occasionally childish) attitude to life. I'm an August 16th 1984 birth, 5'6" (sometimes more on a good day), 150 pounds, brown hair, hazel eyes.

I love creating things and appreciating beauty and art.

*grins*  Well... now that I know a lot more about Say...  she's even squishier than ever ;)
I'm studying Graphic Design right now... I plan on going into print layout... but I'm learning a diversity of topics to make myself marketable :)

For instance, I'm taking a 3D animation class and learning 3D modeling... also, a 2D animation class, where we produce old style handdrawn stuff...  fun, so far... and a Drawing class... because my hand-drawing has suffered recently.  I use the computer for most of my art/work and have lost a bit.  :)

hehehe...

Katie... is that '24' reference to the television program?  if so, I must concur!  However, if it is in reference to your upcoming 24th birthday... well... that works too!

Bushie, bro...  I respect and share that same desire to love and cherish my own future wife as well...  so as long as your wife and mine aren't the same person, there will be no problem  ;)

Never heard of Sage software, so I'm pretty sure we don't use it. And you probably wouldn't know the software company whose software program I'm working with either. Even I'm confused what name it's (the company) currently due to the many take-overs they've gone through these last few years (I'm very slow on the uptake on that sort of thing).

Well, maybe you inherited it from your ancestors. Those things can sometimes skip generations. For example, my type of hair I 'inherited' from my mom's aunt from her mother's side (IIRC). 8)
