I'm thrilled to be able to kick this thread off with such a great review!

FutureSack (http://www.futuresack.com/index.php/news/554/56/Halloween-2012-Gaming-Special-Day-6-Cognition-An-Erica-Reed-Thriller-Ep-1-The-Hangman-PC-Mac.htm) 9/10

Quote
A very good start of a series and candidate for adventure game of the year

Phoenix Online Studios’ first episode The Hangman is both an achievement in mature storytelling and great puzzle design. It is the spiritual successor of the Gabriel Knight series, but with its own unique ideas. Even if it has some technical hiccups and the graphics are dated, it has more substance than many other “serious” adventure games of late. The game also sets a new standard of episodic content with a long playtime of at least 5-6 hours and unlike Telltale’s The Walking Dead (which is without a doubt amazing in its own right, but less a game than a cinematic experience) demands a lot of cerebral thinking with its successful implementation of investigative work, cognition abilities and overall involvement in a believable game world.

Rating: 9/10

An extensive review is in from AdventureGamers (http://www.adventuregamers.com/articles/view/23196), coming in at 3.5/5:

Quote
I really enjoyed almost everything about Hangman. It is soaked with gloomy style, is gorgeous to look at and listen to, sets up its plot points with great precision, and takes off in the third act as it builds to a huge climax with a disquieting final shot that makes me genuinely eager to play the second episode. That's about the highest compliment you can pay to the first in an episodic series.

GamingPortugal  (http://www.dihitt.com.br/barra/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1-review)gave us an 8/10!

We've also gotten a "preview" from PlayerAttack (http://www.playerattack.com/news/2012/10/30/preview-cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller/), although it was posted after the release, so it's technically a review. :)

Another batch of reviews are in! And so far, we are averaging 80% scores on our reviews! :D

WCFCourier (http://wcfcourier.com/entertainment/games/deep-story-of-cognition-draws-in-players/article_db9989fe-2382-11e2-a07d-001a4bcf887a.html) gave us 3.5/5.

From across the pond, IGN Italia (http://it.ign.com/recensione/1353/Comincia-la-stagione-di-Cognition-An-Erica-Reed-Thriller) gives it a 7.5/10. :)

Voice of Geeks Network (http://www.vognetwork.com/reviews/51/Game-Review-Cognition-An-Erica-Reed-Thriller/) has given us a B+.
Quote
The voice acting for Erica is provided by Raleigh Holmes ... She does an excellent job giving Erica some depth, going from between completely serious, to cracking jokes to herself, to then flirting with her coworkers, who all seem smitten with her. It's easy to play the part of "I'm an FBI agent who works alone and doesn't need anyone else ever" - it's much harder to pull off someone who actually DOES have feelings for someone else, but can't bring herself to think about it. Holmes pulls it off.

And Video Game People (http://www.videogamepeople.com/news/3342/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1-the-hangman-review) a 9/10!
Quote
The gameplay is fantastic and apart from the great music playing and the voice-acting, the 2D comic effect was superb. So if you like a game having a mixture of CSI and Gabriel Knight, do not hesitate to get a copy now and start investigating this great adventure.  See you in Episode 2.

The presentation of the game is beyond a doubt, the best aspect of Cognition.  The comic book visuals are great and really add to the crime drama feel Phoenix Online went for.

Creative Gaming (http://creative-gaming.co.uk/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-review/) gives Episode 1 a 7/10!

Quote
Throughout the game, you will occasionally be subject to comic-book-like cutscenes. These are very well done, the artwork is excellent, as is the music and sounds that go with them. They are a joy to watch.

In a great review from WatchPlayRead (http://watchplayread.com/it-came-from-obscurity-cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1/), who have some great things to say!

Quote
Phoenix Online Studios shows that they’re more than just a fangame company.
....
Story is where Cognition really shows its muscle. Character details are either out there in the open, or can be further explored through Erica’s titular ability, which allows her to see into the past, untangle lost memories, or manifest a spiritual manifestations of those who have passed on. The game also features branching paths, which even this early in the game results in different outcomes.

And there's a review up at Charisma Plus 2 (http://cplus2magazine.com/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller/)!

Alternative Magazine Online (http://alternativemagazineonline.co.uk/2012/11/07/game-review-cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1-the-hangman-pc/#more-10580) LOVED the game--they gave us a 9/10!

Quote
Three things in particular make Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller – Episode 1: The Hangman stand out. Firstly, Erica Reed is voiced to perfection (with an authentic Bostonian twang) by Raleigh Holmes, daughter of Robert Holmes, aka Jane Jensen’s husband. It’s an exceptional performance that encompasses a gamut of emotions including grief, anger and sheer determination. Secondly, the soundtrack by Austin Haynes is scene-perfect every step of the way and the song ‘The Taking’ (featuring Raleigh Holmes on vocals) should win video game song of the year, hands down. Thirdly, César Bittar (with a little help from his friend Jane Jensen) and the folks at Phoenix Online Studios have crafted a story that is genuinely involving and extremely emotional. For their first commercial outing, all of these factors add up to a truly incredible achievement.

And Digital Hippos (http://digitalhippos.com/gaming/spotlight/spotlight-gaming-avalanche-november-2012-part-i) (what a fun name!) gave it a 4/5, adding that Cognition went well beyond the reviewers expectations!

Quote
RATING 4/5  - Whenever I see the word "Thriller" in a title of move or game, I tend to be a little hesitant. That is how I prejudged Erica Reed and I made a big mistake. This game actually is quite intense and thrilling. That is rare for me as I play so many games of varying quality, I have become a bit jaded when it comes to point and click. Not the case here, as this is a solid adventure in both writing, a unique graphic style, great puzzles and a burning intensity. My favorite part about playing smaller releases and indie games is finding talent that is so apparent here. The point and click adventure revolution is alive and well with Erica Reed riding this wave very high. Available on Steam right now, you should definitely check it out if you have any interest at all in the adventure genre.

Geek Legacy (http://www.geeklegacy.com/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-review/) enjoyed the game greatly and gave it a 7.5/10!

Quote
Overall I had a pleasing experience with Cognition. Players get to make choices on how the story unfolds. That’s a huge plus in my book and certainly adds to the replay value. ... I’m curious to see how Erica will handle herself after what took place in the final moments of episode one.

Entertainum (http://entertainium.org/gaming/cognition-episode-one-the-hangman-review/) gives Episode 1 a 4/5!

Quote
It’s incredible to think that such an ambitious adventure game was developed by such a small team. They go so far as to include some decent to excellent samples of voice acting, on part with most multi-million dollar games. This premiere chapter shows plenty of potential, giving us reason to expect the next three parts to be even better. If you enjoy adventure games with a gripping story and great art, Cognition is shaping up to be a fantastic option.

Also, have you told http://indiegames.com? They have a fairly large viewer base, I think.

And a 9/10 from GirlGamer (http://www.girlgamer.com/games/article/2343/)!
Quote
This is the first commercial release from Phoenix Online Studios and they’ve done an excellent job creating a dark, atmospheric thriller with a thought-provoking narrative, something many games struggle with these days. It took about six hours to finish which is longer than many comparable games, too. Not surprisingly, the ending was one heck of a cliffhanger so I’m anxiously waiting for the next chapter!

Cognition succeeds in doing what a good adventure game should: it marries good story telling with satisfying puzzles. Most importantly the puzzles are challenging without being frustrating (gone is the adventure game moon logic that plagues so many titles). If you do get stuck, the integrated hint system can be used to get helpful hints without totally spoiling the solution.

RPGFan (http://www.rpgfan.com/reviews/Cognition/index.html) has posted their review of Episode 1, scoring it at 80%!

Quote
The passion of the developers for their work is evident in every facet of the game, and there's a strong foundation here. The puzzle design is far more detailed than what you'd see in similar games, and, with a few exceptions, can be solved with only the magic of clear thought. The art and music are also inspired and make a strong case for the game. Some of the game's technical aspects aren't quite as well-tuned, though, and the unevenness does hurt the experience. Ultimately, Cognition is a good start, and at its core, a quality adventure game. If the folks at Phoenix Online Studios can iron out the technical kinks and uneven presentation, this series will be a sure winner.

Quote
"I really do like this game. It’s a different take on the detective side of adventure games, which I usually don’t go for... I’m all for incorporating the supernatural side of things into games like this because it is a neat angle, and to see someone who has had this ability all her life still struggling to come to grips with it and tackle getting over certain events in her life really makes the lead seem even more human than she would have normally. It makes her relatable and makes me want to keep playing it."

A couple more reviews coming in over the holiday weekend:

GGS Gamer (http://www.ggsgamer.com/2012/11/22/review-cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1/) enjoyed the game and how it incorporated Erica's powers into her job:

Quote
If you like your point-and-click games more serious than Monkey Island then I can heartily recommend Cognition with its neat touches like comic book style subtitles. While fans of the piratey point-and-click classic might be shocked that you can die and maim others in Cognition, the polished nature of the puzzles and the well established atmosphere create an experience that highly suits the CSI style genre. Plus it’s always fun to walk into a crime scene, touch one object, and magically recollect the intricacies of the murder, then bluff your arse off and act like you just followed the clues.

And Beefjack  (http://beefjack.com/reviews/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1-review-pc/)has given a big thumbs-up, Recommended rating!

Quote
If style were the most important aspect of a game, Cognition would be game of the year. Reverb Games and Phoenix Online Studios have created a visual feast in the first episode of this murder mystery adventure game. Most of the cutscenes are partially animated artworks. Whether this was a budget decision or an aesthetic one, it works, and gives Cognition an atmosphere that sets it apart from other games.

Adventure-Treff (http://www.adventure-treff.de/artikel/tests.php?id=304) has given us a score of 85%!

Quote
"I myself was skeptical about whether the title is what he promised. According to Jane Jensen's disappointing for me, Gray Matter (both the puzzle design, storytelling and presentation) and the announcement that she would help with the story, the expectations were even . still lower However, I was pleasantly surprised, because what The Silver Lining hinted at every line of dialogue and staging shows here clearly: a logical development of the adventure genre in episodic format An exciting story, an interesting main character, challenging puzzles, and a grandiose. atmosphere make for me this first episode a worthy spiritual successor of the Gabriel Knight series, which hopefully will be even better with each new episode. Besides The Walking Dead is the best for me so far (serious) Adventure game experience of the year. "

Quote
For a first effort and a brand-new IP, Phoenix Online Studios has done an admirable job. Although in places Cognition's graphics are little rough and the writing's a little unnatural, it offers us an adult-level adventure game full of interesting mechanics, a professional voice cast, great music and a compelling heroine. After playing the first Erica Reed episode, I have no doubt there will be future ones and no doubt that through them, Phoenix Online will iron out the remaining kinks and create for us a truly memorable adventure series.

The first episode of four is a promising start. The game has some challenging puzzles that aren’t impossible and aren’t too easy to still give you that sense of accomplishment once you complete them. The atmosphere is creepy, inviting and addictive and the voice actors/actresses and visuals rise this game to sit among the great Point and Click games. Although there are a few flaws that keep it from filling it’s full potential, Cognition is definitely a game for lovers of the genre and otherwise.

I must admit that playing it made me feel like a detective and I'm starting to appreciate the hard work lawmen put into solving a case. If the detective part ever gets boring, the game turns to its paranormal side to keep everyone entertained.

Even though the animations are a bit faulty, the amount of work that the developers put into this project almost surfaces while playing the game. Solid story with paranormal elements, gorgeous hand-drawn scenes, above average puzzles and a great ending (for the first episode in a series) make this game a must-have in every gamer's inventory.

A 4/5 from Adventure Classic Gaming! (http://www.adventureclassicgaming.com/index.php/site/reviews/769/)

Quote
In all, Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller - Episode 1: The Hangman is a promising start to a new series and is completely worthy of playing. It takes a different slant on the realm of detective fiction and features a strong female lead in a subgenre that is typically dominated by male characters. Erica is a heroine in her own right and is not portrayed with any preset stereotypes. Overall, if you are seeking an adventure game with stylish graphics and an intriguing story and are not turned off by adult dialogs and imaginaries, what a great way it is to start with this debut title from Phoenix Online Studios.

An 8/10 from Game Podunk (http://www.gamepodunk.com/_/reviews/pc-reviews/review-cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1-the-hangman-r1739)!

Quote
One of the best things about the game is its story. Although some of the secondary characters are one-dimensional, Erica herself carries the show. She is a very multifaceted character who does not fall into any stereotypical female game role. She is smart, driven, and willing to put her life on the line to save others. All the same, she still has a sense of humor and quirky interests like remember random statistics. Overall, although other characters pale in comparison, Erica stands up as a very interesting character who players will want to get to know.

The combination of hand drawn 2D art with polygonal characters is fairly seamless, saving for some glowing edges. Sonically, the Austin Haynes’ soundtrack is one of the best components of the package, delivering a number of key motifs which complement the on-screen adventure splendidly.

Explosion (http://www.explosion.com/cognition-episode-1-the-hangman/) says: 4/5!

Quote
Cognition is an episodic story, and Episode 1 The Hangman shows a good deal of promise for the rest of the series.  There is a lot of backstory that had to be dealt with in this episode, and several new sets of mechanics that had to be taught to players.  It ends with a gigantic cliffhanger so hopefully Episode 2 will hit the ground running when it releases later this month.  It is out now for PC, and a demo is available for players who are still cautious about this very promising new IP.

For the Love of Gaming (http://4logpc.com/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1-the-hangman-review/7204/#more-7204) comes in with 7/10!

Quote
If you are a fan of point and click adventure games with a great story, you should definitely check out the first episode.

Gert Lush Gaming (http://www.gertlushgaming.co.uk/2013/01/07/mini-review-cognition-episode-1/) has a scoreless but favorable mini-review up for Episode 1.

Quote
For the first episode of a games series, the game does an excellent job of setting the scene, introducing the characters and showing the player what is expected of them. I enjoyed every minute of it as it is like an animated CSI meets Sherlock holmes type affair that oozes atmosphere. Like walking Dead has proved, players like the episodic approach to games and prove  that they can co exist in this generation of gaming. For a strong story with lush art style and a clever abilities, look no further than Cognition.

We've got more great reviews coming in this morning!

IndieGames.com (http://indiegames.com/2013/01/cognition_an_erica_reed_thrill.html), who ranked us the #4 Adventure Game of 2012 (http://indiegames.com/2013/01/top_10_indie_adventure_games_o.htmll) yesterday, has some great things to say!

Quote
Cognition managed to grip me from its very first scene and by the time it was over I was simply aching for more. I loved every moment of it. I even felt that this is a game on par with Gabriel Knight, but let me just rephrase that for the younger crowd: If you ever enjoyed Fringe and imagined an interactive version of the series, you too will love and appreciate the game's brilliantly written protagonists, the strong female lead, the spooky atmosphere, the excellent plot and some truly rewarding puzzles.

A Role Model (http://arolemodel.com/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-review/) gives us a 4/5!

Quote
Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller is the first commercial game from Phoenix Online Studios, though its hard to believe that the game is a debut, given its high production values and ambition. With Jane Jensen (Gabriel Knight) working as a story consultant, Cognition has all it needs to be a hit.

A few more reviews in :)

From Indie-Love (http://indie-love.com/2013/01/12/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1-review/),

Quote
What makes Cognition stand out is its hybridity, its mix of genres and media. ...  if you’re looking for story and innovation, Cognition is a great way to tap into some of the newest movements in indie and small-studio storytelling. Judging from this first episode, Cognition would also be a great videogame for non-gamers, particularly fans of pulp fiction thrillers, mysteries, and graphic novels or motion comics like Madefire.

From Akihabara Blues (http://akihabarablues.com/analisis-de-cognition-un-thriller-de-erica-reed/), an 80%! (In Spanish)

And from JTM Games (http://jtmgames.com/2013/01/13/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-one-review/), another positive scoreless review:
Quote
Despite my qualms with the point-and-click genre, I had a good time with Erica Reed. I think Phoenix has started something potentially great, and I hope they continue to expand upon it in future episodes. ... Cognition is a story-based experience and when it gets going it’s a tough ride to get off. There’s a lot of good stuff here — more than enough to get me interested in Ep. 2.

Two more in today!

From Johnnosh Ark Review (http://johnnoshark-reviews.com/2013/01/14/cognition-episode-1-review/):

Quote
One thing that this game provides is phenomenal story telling encompassing the use of artwork. Each cut-scene throughout the game becomes an immersing piece of art, with a comic book styling and fantastic depth. The stylised scene of each crime scene, each location and the use of colour overlay within Erica’s ‘Cognition mode’ make the game truly beautiful. Another feature of the game which makes Cognition stand amongst the top of the Adventure games is that the decisions you make throughout the game directly effects how the story evolves.

And another review is in at Games.cz (http://games.tiscali.cz/recenze/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-recenze-prvni-epizody-61764), a Czech site, gives Episode 1 an 8/10!

Gamers Haven (http://gamershavennews.com/2013/01/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-review/) scores us with a 4.3/5!

Quote
The narrative feels like an episode of Showtime’s Dexter or Fringe if it was an interactive version of the series, you soon will appreciate the game’s exceptional written protagonists, the strong female lead, the stark atmosphere and rewarding puzzles. Other than plot the game is at its best when using the powers, a smart spin on an otherwise traditional detective point-and-click adventure.

EGMNow (http://www.egmnow.com/electricsistahood/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-leaves-lasting-impression-review/)'s Electrica Sista Hood gives Episode 1 a 4/5!

Quote
It is refreshing and innovative for its chosen genre. Many like to stick to what they know, where Phoenix Online Studios chose to explore outside the box. Cognition‘s story is realistic, gritty and enticing enough to make me excited for the next installment.

And this fun observation!

Quote
Once Mama Rose gets introduced I became obsessed with her voice actress. That timbre female voice — I’ve heard it before. But where? I could easily be wrong and also be exposing myself to some ridicule but I have to ask this: Doesn’t Mama Rose sound just like Zecora from My Little Ponies: Friendship is Magic? Go listen to her again if you don’t believe me.

From the Digital Noob (http://www.egmnow.com/digitalnoob/cognition-s1e1-pc-review/) section of EGM Now, a 9.0!

Quote
Great story, great art, great voice acting, great soundtrack. No, the game isn’t perfect, but it’s damn good, especially for this being the company’s first major retail release. I have great hopes for this series. Without a doubt, it would be a fantastic addition to the library of any gamer who loves a good old adventure game or is just looking for a good detective noir story.

Mature Gaming (http://mature-gaming.com/reviews/cognition-episode-1-the-hangman-review-pc/) gives Episode 1 a 3.5/5!

Quote
For a first effort with a brand new IP, Phoenix Online Studios have done quite the remarkable job. Cognition isn’t perfect, but what it does offer us is a unique click and point adventure that with the use of adult-level narrative, interesting mechanics, a great voice cast and a compelling story, leaves me with no doubt that there will be more to this franchise and that Phoenix Online Studios will create a truly remarkable adventure series for us all to enjoy.

Nerdy but Flirty (http://sarahtherebel.com/2013/01/21/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-one-the-hangman-review/) gave it a B+, and in addition to some great things to say about the game, had this to say about the prequel e-comic and soundtrack:

Quote
[The prequel e-comic] definitely fills in some gaps that aren’t necessary for playing the game, but are really nice to know, and I have a feeling some of the events portrayed might come up again in later episodes. The soundtrack is also really nice – I particularly enjoy the chorale tracks, but the incidental music is also of a high quality.

Gaming Illustrated (http://gamingillustrated.com/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-one-pc-review/) gives it an 81%!

Quote
Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller, Episode One, The Hangman is both a mouthful and a well done, mature point-and-click adventure game. Not without its flaws, it’s a sincere title that respects the genre while adding its own stamp to it. With its thoughtful gameplay, quality story telling, unique art style, and moody soundtrack, Cognition successfully immerses the player into the gritty world of Erica Reed. Adventure gamers who have been pining for a game reminiscent of the feel and tone of Gabriel Knight will certainly appreciate Cognition.

Another Ep 1 review is in from Indian Video Gamer (http://www.indianvideogamer.com/reviews/review-cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-1-the-hangman/18162), a 7/10!

Quote
The Hangman is completely driven by its rich plot and dense character build-up; two areas where the game excels. You’d find yourself trying to extract every bit of information/help that each character has to offer in helping you proceed, and with a fair bit of logical thinking too. The game also incorporates the usage of the in-game web/phone/computer very well in aiding your quest.

Another Episode 1 review has popped up from Gamersaurs (http://gamersaurs.com/index.php/article/item/625-independence-movement-cognition-because-fun-is-overrated)!

Quote
I’m not going to lie, this game is good, very good - the story is engaging, the puzzles are difficult without being ridiculous... A good point and click adventure, much like a good book, forces you to keep going, to keep playing until you’ve found the last clue, solved the last puzzle and for better or worse reached the end. Cognition Episode 1 Hangman did all of these things for me. I sat down to start playing in the afternoon and next time I looked away from the screen it was midnight, [and] the credits were rolling...

Two more Episode 1 reviews are in!

From Indie Game Reviewer (http://www.indiegamereviewer.com/review-cognition-episode-1-the-hangman/), a 3.5/5:

Quote
While Cognition has a fair amount of substance, its main focus is on puzzle sequences. Gameplay here is familiar to the early Sierra On-Line games such like Police Quest, Kings Quest (understandable, given its studio’s raison d’etre.) Cognition, however, offers an interesting twist on the genre as you will often be forced to view your surroundings from an alternate “cognitive state,” which gives the situation a little more depth than most games of this type.

And from Dad's Gaming Addiction (http://www.dadsgamingaddiction.com/cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-episode-one-the-hangman/), another great review:

Quote
Overall, I found my first experience with the series to be a positive one.  The first episode’s story was engaging from start to finish and I found it hard to put down. ... The art styles were fantastic, reminding me of something you’d find in a really good comic book.  The puzzles weren’t overly difficulty, but they weren’t so easy that I didn’t have to put my mind to work.  I’ve been waiting for a game like this for a good, long while and I’m pleased by what I’ve experienced thus far.  ... If you’re in the mood to be swept up by a compelling, interactive mystery story then I highly recommend that you take a look at the “Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller” series.

Destructoid (http://www.destructoid.com/review-cognition-an-erica-reed-thriller-the-hangman-247721.phtml) has posted their Episode 1 review--a 7.5/10!

Quote
Accompanying the drama and puzzles are some truly gorgeous painted backgrounds rich in detail and character. So often I see the concept art for a game and fall in love, until I see the finished product and wonder how it fell so far. With Cognition, the sort of beautiful concept art I frequently use as a background on my desktop can be found everywhere. Of course, the locations being graveyards, abandoned buildings, filthy bachelor pads and an FBI office don't immediately scream "aesthetically pleasing", but it is, regardless.

Apps Strawberry (http://appsstrawberry.com/cognition-episode-1-review/) concurs on the 3.5/5 and adds that we are "DARK AND BROODING" (which we all knew, of course).

And Just Another Gaming Site (http://jags.in/index.php/component/k2/item/187-cognition-episode-1-the-hangman-review) gives it a 7.5!

Quote
The story is easily this game’s biggest strength. Even though there are a few slower sections in the middle, you will be completely engrossed in Erica’s hunt for the serial killer and the mysteries of the main plot. Cognition opens up with a really compelling prologue which plays a big part in setting up the rest of the game. The beautiful soundtrack helps set up the tone of the game and even though it’s mostly dark and gloomy, it manages to find a good emotional balance. The Hangman is a good opening episode for a story heavy game.

Another iPad Ep 1 review from The Hulking Reviewer (http://hulkingreviewer.com/home/reviews/cognition/) gives it an 8.5!

Quote
Cognition Episode 1 was an extremely captivating and enjoyable game. From the opening sequences to the stunning conclusion I couldn’t put the game down when I had free time. The story was solid and had the perfect amount of suspense. The puzzles were challenging but fit into the game just right and were rewarding. Erica Reed is a great protagonist and her cognitive abilities add a layer of game play which takes storytelling to a new level. If you’ve ever played an old school adventure game such as Police Quest and enjoyed it then I’m almost certain you’ll love Cognition. It’s definitely not a rehashing of those games but a worthy progression of the genre. If you enjoy Indie games and you’relooking for a great story driven adventure with rewarding puzzles then I highly recommend this. If you’re just looking for a good game I recommend this. I can’t wait to get my hands on the 2nd episode because I’m now hooked to this series.

Cognition is an excellent adventure games. Mystery and detective fans should really enjoy it. The juxtaposition of dark, eerie atmospheres with more light-hearted atmospheres works well to give an idea of what it must be like to try to live your life while your job involves horrific things. ... If this is a genre you like, the decision should be "badaboomdingdang! Easy peasy," as Terrence would say. Get it.
