Title: Old Ladies and Other Misreadings
Post by: Questing Character on June 09, 2004, 07:16:14 PM
If you're anything like me, your literacy is questionable.  I'll give some examples but I kind of want to be assured I'm not alone in these *really* bizarre misreadings, so I want other people to post some too....just, you know, to make me seem more (or less?) sane.
Well, most recently I was scrolling down the forum index here and saw that the most recently post in the Music forum was in the "Old Ladies" thread.  A second look revealed it was actually the "Oldies" thread.  Riiiiight...

Of course, an all time favorite came from health class one year...we had been given a list of the benefits of excercise.  I SWEAR that it said "Prevents Permanent Death" the first and second times I read it, but the third time it said "Prevents Premature Death". :-\

I don't easily misread things, while I specialize in finding special nicknames for artists (mainly those I dislike), based on their names and my association to them (the names)... 8)

I misread things all the time.  Then again, I'm an idiot and my glasses aren't strong enough for me, so yeah, lol.

Bwahahahaha!  I have victory over you, Kimmieh!  Now you shall forever be slightly less literate than you were before you came to this thread!
And soon, I shall be in control of all the world's brain cells!!

Okay, so...I suppose I shouldn't admit that I thought the "edit" in Kimmie's post said "head"... ;]

I misread things all the time mostly cause i refuse to wear my glasses unless im reading a book, not cause they look bad or anything <i look good no matter what :P> just they are uncomfortable, but yeah i always misread things my friend matt says to me and he has a fun time laughing at me.

I misread things often, but it's normally right after I wake up.

Misreading's fun, I do that a lot when I'm dead tired. ;) I've had some really strange ones though, I can't recall them but one involved seeing a pervy sentence that wasn't there. ;)

What also happens is my eye sometimes wanders onto a word on a page and I have a helluva time finding that word because I was actually reading a text on a whole other part of that page. :-\
