I'm sorry to hear that... I guess. What game is this?

Cricket?! derr..... ::)
So is Football ( Soccer ) weird is it?
Please don't start that, I used to think Soccer was Football.
It was football (soccer).
*gives Alex another huggle*
Still disappointed for you...
Cat
Yes it was FOOTBALL, not SOCCER but FOOTBALL. Sooooo close but alas Gerrard seemed to think it would be a good idea to pass the ball back to the goalie with 12 SECONDS TO GO!
meh, just meh :'(

Hahaha Cricket, thats a good one James! And Polo? Wtf is that even played anywhere any more? (apart from the royal family of course)

Soccer *is* football. "American football" is "our" game with the touchdowns and whatnot.
Peace & Luv, Liz
Australian Football is different aswell ;D

You will notice that I did say football first...then put soccer in parenthesis...just doing it for the benefit of those who had no clue...but don't worry, I KNOW the difference between Britian's football and America's football :P

No, because it has reached a much larger international scale than Cricket AND because I know how to play it. :D (even if I'm only good at faking an injury when someone's breeze touches me :D)

I dunno, they played it in the movie "Pretty Woman" (a movie to which I can relate oh so much :D).
I love Football (soccer). I don't like American football very much. Also, I like hockey.
If Polo's the game that you use mallets to hit the ball thru the metallic hoops in the ground, I've played it. I'm not any good at it, but I've played it.
Nah thats croquet (spl??). Polo is alot like lacrosse in the US i think apart from the guys ride round on horses rather than running round on foot...OR I could be totally wrong!
Then I HAVEN'T played it.
Water Polo was fun when I used to take swimming lessons. XD

Sorta wrong/sorta right. :D
Lacrosse is actually Canada's Official National Sport.
Hockey was based off Lacrosse, actually.
Key differences from hockey:
1) Not on ice, but on a field or in a non-iced rink with fake turf.
2) Instead of having sticks to pass a puck around, they have sticks with a little net on the end to catch and pass a ball with.
3) The gameplay and rules are also different.
As far as I know, there's nothing like polo. And thank goodness for that! :D

Yeah, I can't stand American Football, it's so "let's all kill each other, derrrr.... footy....." sorta game. It's even worse than Rugby League!
And when you say Hockey, do you mean Field Hockey Hockey or Ice Hockey Hockey?
A friend went over to the US to work in a summer camp, she went over telling the organisers she doesn't play any sports that they know... then when she was there she mentioned she played Hockey and they all went "WELL! Why didn't you say so!" and she was about to be thrown into an ICE Hockey game! LOL!
Field hockey is big in Australia, and we have the worlds best teams male and female. ;D
Heh. I don't see the appeal in American footy either. I love the AFL (GO THE LIONS !!! ) but I'm not so big on rugby. However, American football seems so "sissy" in comparison (am I gonna get beat up by angry American footballs fans? :-[). I mean, if you're going to beat people up in a state-sponsered testosterone-driven brawl, do it right! (http://www.sportsphotos.biz/rugby.html) ;P
Field hockey is also excellent - expecially since the Aussies are winning ;B
im sorry but hahaha american football, with all their padding, i mean come on...look at rugby players, u dont see them in padding. they dont care if their nose gets broken or their leg gets wrapped around their head. ::)
I love football (soccer) its the best football there is IMO :P ;D

Oh, Ice Hockey...the only kind worth watching. ;) :D I'm Canadian, it's the only hockey I'm willing to know! :D
Field hockey = for girls in short plaid skirts...*drool* :D

American Football has more serious injuries than Rugby....and that's with the padding. I'd hate to see it played without... :-\
American Football makes no sense to me. Harrison tried explaining it to me once, but about all I could conclude from the matter was that it was an excuse for men to tackle and beat on each other and get paid for it. ;) (Oh, and running away from getting stuck in a "brawl" is not only not pansy in American Football, it's desired behavior! ;) )
Peace & Luv, Liz
ah now u see, for me...its basketball! Tall men in shorts! XD now thats what im talkin about...yeh baby! <3
The aussie female sports teams often do nude black/white 'artistic' photo shoots!
:lovegoggles:
;B
( I'm sure google will find some of those pics! )
Brazil does the same sort of thing, except for they're in color, and they're not what I'd call "artistic"... ;P Er, or so I've heard, at least. :S
Kimmie: Did you know that basketball was invented here in Springfield, Massachusetts? I kid you not. :)
For what it's worth, volleyball was invented in nearby Holyoke, MA. I owe many a gym class of torture to that fact. ;P
Peace & Luv, Liz
Me too... It's like they WANT you to break your wrists in that game. Fortunately, I learned to dodge the ball pretty well, so much so that the teacher wouldn't force me to play ;)
Anyways, we have mainly basketball and soccer here... none of those violent sports like American football, rugby or hockey, where you have people bashing each other. The fans usually take care of that part :P

Did you know it was invented BY a Canadian? ;)

Yes, but he invented it while here in Springfield, so there. ;P

I would like to say that I mentioned to Harrison that Kimmie liked basketball because it involved "tall men in shorts", and he noted that she should really love swimming, because it involves "tall, muscular men in Speedos". ;)
Peace & Luv, Liz
But all the swimmers are gay ....
**Caugh - Ian Thorpe - Cough**
::)
I have to say, of all the sports that I've played, I like volleyball the most...don't ask me why. I'm not very athletic in the first place...

I love Soccer ;D, i enjoy playing soccer although im not in a team or anything :-\

I played football and wrestling in Highschool, tried to play soccer but forget that to much running for me, I like to watch soccer sometimes but only when its like the world cup and exciting and i always root for ireland since we are the most hardcore fans there, Football american is my favorite sport to watch and play though, and wrestling was fun and i got second in state in that.

wonder what the germany will do wednesday :S
ok, Czechs wins (2-1), Netherland wins (3-0), they are both in the next round... now i am forced to watch at least another game ; \
I'd have been extremely surprised if Holland didn't go through. Germany have been completely pants and deserve to go out.
Don't worry, you can look foward to England slaughtering Portugal tonight, well I hope so anyway.
PS - COME ON ENGLAND!!!!
no slaughter, but what a great game!! :o :o reallly loved it :lovegoggles: ...neither teams deserved to loose, too bad it has to end by penalties :-\
portugal is in the next round :o
Yes! Portugal eliminates England in Penalty Kicks. Wooo!
And I don't usually care at all about soccer, or if you will, futball.
Yes! Portugal eliminates the Netherlands. Wooo!! ;-D
I REALLY wanted Portugal to lose :'(
I'm chuffed that Greece beat France though hehe. That'll show 'em!
greece beated the Cechz today too!! :o :o ...they are in the finals!! lol, could be fun ;-D ....and i am tempted to say that portugal would win but greece show exceptional skill!! :-\
