Yeah, so when I was seeing The Hobbit, there was a trailer for Warm Bodies, which is about a zombie who falls in love with a human girl, and is slowly cured through loving this girl (or something like that). the trailer looked like something i'd enjoy; what does everyone else think? Funny? stupid? weird?
Looks cute! :0
yeah, it does. my friend and I loved the trailer. we have a soft spot for zombies that break the traditional mold of eating brains and stuff.
I think it looks really fun, cute, and enjoyable. I'll be seeing it!
See, I absolutely detest Zombie movies, video games, etc. Basically anything to do with the genre I feel is lame, over-exposed and played out. (This goes for freaking vampires as well, ugh.) But this movie looks great... takes several genres and spins it on it's head. I'd see this film.

Generally I hate zombies too, but like I said, when they break the traditional mold, I'm totally interested. I like seeing a fresh spin on an established thing. Seeing a fresh take on zombie movies is great.
The guy reminds me of Gerard Way just enough to remind me how much of a crush I had on Gerard Way back in middle school.

Really, Bt? See, when I saw this trailer, I instantly thought "Oh great, they're now doing to the zombie flick what Twilight did to vampire movies." This looks like some film executive said "Zombies + teenybopper romance = $$$$!!" Still, the fact that they're taking what seems to be a self-aware comedic take on it could save it. I think it's walking a fine line though.
To put a romance angle on a zombie story is kind of new--generally, the romance in those has to be between survivors only, otherwise you're dealing with some really icky implications. Sure, vampires are technically dead too, but they lack the cannibalism and rotting issues that zombies bring with them. So to see that someone figured out a fun way to navigate that is neat. :)
The lead actor, incidentally, is the guy who played a young Hank McCoy/Beast in the X-Men: First Class movie.
You know, between the sexy vampires and werewolves from Twilight and the sexy aliens from The Host, it was only a matter of time before a movie came out with sexy zombies. At least they refrained from titling it "Love Never Dies."
Who else is holding out for a movie with sexy mummies?
You know, they'll probably use that in one of they posters for the movie lol. As for sexy mummies, I'm sure that will be coming eventually. Give it time, and I'm sure someone will come up with it. It's bound to happen. It's the nature of the universe.
"Warm Bodies" is based on a book of the same title. actually :)
Well, The Mummy sort of did the sexy mummies thing already. But I've no doubt there are YA books with such out there already.

Yeah, no - this film has a sarcastic and self aware tone that I like. It's not a straight romance - it's played for laughs and it's played against convention. That's what I dig.

I was not aware this was based off a book... I think a trip to Barnes and Noble may be in order...

Fair enough. The humor could end up being the saving grace. And I do like the actor that's playing his "best friend." Forget his name though.

Vampires can be cannibalistic. :P And yes, this does look like a better love story than Twilight. :P
On a related note:

Looks like My Boyfriend's Back (http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0107626/) + Twilight.
Well, cannabilistic in the actual eating of the flesh.
Also, "poxiest"? Is that a British thing? It sounds like it would be.
I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE THAT I COULDN'T EVEN READ PAST THE FIRST POST I HAD TO TELL EVERYONE HOW EXCITED I AM!!
...anyways...
Wait, since when are vampires not cannibalistic? Flesh, blood, soylent green...it's all the same! :P
Vampires can't cannibalistic because vampires are no longer human. Cannibalism is the act of eating the flesh of your own species. Vampires used to be human, but they're not anymore -- so aside from not actually eating flesh, it's not cannibalism because they're not human.
....unless that's something else Twilight changed about them.... -_-
But what if they eat other vampires? :vampire:
A Mormon would never advocate two people of different species marrying and having children, so presumably they are still human. :P
Well, there ARE many different types of vampires, and we can't let Twilight shadow our perception of them forever. One of the few consistant things about vampires is that they're all monsters who don't belong in this world. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z65s0fqDw4&feature=player_detailpage#t=4s) :P (Oh, and they all have OCD.)
No, even the Twilight vamps are pretty clearly NOT human. And most importantly, they got married before doing the deed, Deloria, don't forget that's the MOST important part!
If a vamp drank from another vamp...I guess that'd be a kind of cannibalism. Though the TVs/movies where I've seen that happen have it varying from tasting gross to them, being harmful, being useless, being a turn-on, being a stop-gap but not really all that nourishing... it varies!
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Are_vampires_human
QuoteAnswer:
Sorry guys, there is no scientific proof of the existence of Vampires or Vampyrs.
They are creatures of myth and legend, sprung from human fears and misconceptions of the physiology of death in the middle ages, popularised by fiction, movies, television and some very active imaginations.
A vampire is a dead human kept animate by 'that something special' that enables him to be a vampire.
I have italicized, bolded and highlighted the pertinent text. Though that third sentence features the use of "that something special" which I find hilarious.

Lenin is obviously a vampire. :P He looks the part and everything.

There is a film called "Back to the USSR - Takaisin Ryssiin" (http://akas.imdb.com/title/tt0099089/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1) that tells the story of a lonely village communist who gets vampire Lenin as his lodger.
And hilarity ensues.
hey guys, let's get back to the movie, shall we? I think this is veering just a little off-topic.
Maybe a supernatural beings thread is in order. ;)
Anyway...as for this movie...it does looks like it could be fun. Unlike Twilight, it doesn't seem to take itself serious (at least from the promo). I dunno if I'd see it in the theaters, but maybe rent it.
I'm not really a zombie movie fan, but if it's somewhat humorous (like Zombieland) I can enjoy that.
Zombieland was SO much fun!

It was. Okay, that settles it, it before I get way off topic, I'm starting the supernatural beings thread. :)

So, the vampires in White Wolf actually do this. (I just learned this!) It's not called "cannibalism" (they're not eating flesh), it's called diablerie and it is considered just as messed up by vampires as cannibalism is by humans
but it gives the vampire who does it the strength of the vampire they ate on top of their own so I guess it has its perks. I mean, you wouldn't have any vampire friends but on the other hand you could probably kill anyone who decided to bring it up.
In Being Human (US) they've mentioned it, it's not treated at all like cannibalism but most vampires don't do it because they don't get any nutrients from drinking the blood of the undead.
....I've been doing research on this sort of stuff for some stuff I'm writing... can you tell? :P
A bit. :)
To go back to the original topic, I saw Warm Bodies last weekend, it was pretty cute :) Fun movie, not perfect, but I enjoyed it. Good matinee-price movie, or just wait for DVD.
