Okay, now I'm sure I'm going to sound like a walking advertisement for this software, but I just had to tell everyone here about it! Just like Skype is the penultimate solution for P2P telephony (A fancy-schmancy term for being able to talk to someone online through voice), Mercora is the same for P2P streaming music. Just go to www.mercora.com and download the software there. Go through the simple and painless sign-up process, and when your menu panel opens up, click on join group, and in the window that pops up, click "Last". It's arranged by the number of members, so it's just easier to start at the back. ;) There's currently no search function integrated for groups yet, sorry! ;B The name of our group is 'Kings Quest 9', so it shouldn't be too hard to spot! ;D Other than that, have fun!

Well, there goes another Spammotel-address. I wonder what'll happen when I close it (the address). ::) In any case, I didn't see mention of any Spyware in the license agreement (yes, I skimmed through it all), so that's good. There's no way I'm going to let it run as a server, that's for sure. However, I have a small problem, 'Join a group' returns a 404. :-\
The interesting thing is, even though you have to enter your address into the sign-up form, I didn't even get so much as a verification email, let alone any spam. Now, compare that to 98% of the software out there, especially free stuff. ;) Yeah, I tried out that 3 degrees P.O.S before, and I have to say, you'd think something that has the backing of a multi-billion dollar corporation wouldn't crash everytime you give it a harsh look, at least. LN: Also, I don't know if this is how you meant it, but you don't actually have to u/l anything, you just have to tell it what directories your music is in. It streams it directly from your computer to whoever is listening. ;D

The great thing is, you can adjust your security settings (via a slider in the settings window) so that noone but your friends (I.E. the folks in the KQ9 group) can see your playlist, listen to your music, etc. :) You can access the settings window by clicking on the 'wrench cross' at the bottom of the main menu. 8) Hopefully it stops giving you that 404 error, as well.

There's practically no music on this pc, and I don't plan on doing that soon either. And I don't see how those (security) settings can have anything to do with a 404 error. So I'm sorry to say I'm still getting up. I've sent a form to mercora to ask for help, so we'll see if they answer. :-\
