Title: Pink poodle
Post by: Vitojeans on October 13, 2013, 02:02:30 AM
Did anyone else get the pink poodle/harbinger of death cutscene at the very end of ep. 4??
It was hilarious, but what was it about?

I haven't seen that death scene, but the Pink Poodle is the graphic-pet of the Phoenix team for Cognition development. And inside joke between Mikael Palsio & Elisa Pavinato. See these links: pinterest (https://es.pinterest.com/postudios/unofficial-art/), barboncino rosa (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=13738.msg357860#msg357860).

In the credits of Episode 4 they wrote:
""The Team would like to thank
The Pink Poodle, The Muuubius Cow and Gentleman Puddle, for offering us guidance (all hail!).""

Could you please explain exactly to me when or how is triggered that death scene. I am wishing to see it!!  :o

There's another Pink Poodle in Episode 2 at Melissa's apartment: It is on the desktop with the computer; see the attached image.

I've found 2 more pink dogs in Episode 3, but I'm not sure if they are poodles (see the attached images):
- 1st: As Erica, go to Cordelia's bedroom. Open the closet left of the bed; between the books there's a pencil with a pink dog.
- 2nd: As Cordelia, go to Max' office. On the desk there's a photo with Smith family; the young Cordelia wore a dress with a pink dog.

The images are also in this folder (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_nakSX0fVysQUVlWGZ1ckNTOU0).

A-HA! Definitely, I'm getting very blind!  :bomb: If it were a puddle (gentleman), I would get myself wet ... Kill, KILL!

Thank you VERY VERY MUCH!! You look too sexy in the cutscene!  :lovegoggles: The Pink Poodle watches us all. All hail!

It isn't a death cutscene. It is an Easter Egg Hidden and a funny alternate explanation about Cordelia becoming a killer. It is set in the basement of Enthon Towers after Cordelia killed her ... See the attached image or this link (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_nakSX0fVysVVRncGo0NFdLekk).

No! No!! How can this be?? The pink harbinger of death again. Of death ....... and birth.

I'm not completely sure, but I think that "Mr & Mrs Pink Poodle" appear as parents in the Birth Certificate of Jeff Therrien showed by Max to Skorobeus during their confrontation at Max's office. See this video (22:23) (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xfmy2quSoao#t=22m23s).

Erica sees (by means of postcognition) the same certificate at the basement of Enthon Towers. In that 2nd certificate the parents are "Jane Smith and A.T. Skorobeus". In fact the 2 certificates are quite different; see the attached images or click this link (https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_nakSX0fVysV3pVY0ZlS1JCRlk&usp=sharing).

I haven't the pleasure to know Mrs Pink Poodle.  :-* How did you, gentle poodles, get in the certificate? What do you want?  :deal:

Are you sure that the parents of the certificate are Mr & Mrs 'Pink' Poodle? Could you please talk with them about the certificate?  :futuristic:

It's hard to tell. I'm afraid I'm not acquainted with our poodle overlords. :P

The parents of Mr Pink Poodle are Elisa Pavinato and Mikael Palsio. So they are probably the grandparents of Jeff Therrien. ;)

Are you acquainted with Elisa or Mikael?

Different worlds. :gossip: It looks like their world is sometimes funny. See the attached avatars I've stolen from their blogs.  :D

Last week I sent Mikael an email about other question and he replied to me. Then I told him subtly about the Certificate easter egg, but he hasn't still replied. I don't know if the lack of response is an implicit confirmation, or he hasn't understood my bad English (language). :(

I have another little question for you in this post (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=14520.msg363712#msg363712).

I think I have found the Muuubius Cow at the end of Cognition 4. See the attached image.

Muubius or Moobius is the best friend of the Pink Poodle. Both are pink-haired (https://es.pinterest.com/postudios/unofficial-art/) and graphic-pets of Phoenix Team for
Moebius and Cognition videogames.

The Pink Cow appears several times (http://forum.pinkertonroad.com/showthread.php?915-Easter-Eggs-References) in Moebius, and when the player touches the cow Malachi says 'Moo' or 'Muu'.

The image is also in my 'drive' of Google (https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B_nakSX0fVysZHZJVlZVRWl3U28&usp=sharing).

The Pink Poodle and the Muuubius Cow made a cameo appearance at the 'Holyday Greetings 2015' video (00:14) (https://youtu.be/ISHwIDZCUj8#t=00m14s) from Adventure Gamers. The attached images are screenshots from the video.

It's just a shame that the Gentleman Puddle (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=14529.msg363932#msg363932) doesn't appear in the video. I imagine it frozen inside his glass jar.  :)

The video is animated by Mikael Palsio, art by Elisa Pavinato and voice-over by Katie Hallahan, of course. Mikael wrote in his blog (http://www.nyponink.fi/personal.html) that it was "Animated and finished in 2 days because of a tight schedule."  :sweating: :whip:

It's curious the way 2 internal pets (in-jokes) are becoming more and more prominent. If they carry on like this, they'll take over Phoenix Online and a bit later over all the world! Be careful, César, ten cuidado!!  :bomb:

2 more images (attached) with the Pink Poodle & Moo/uu/uuubius. I've stolen them from Jane Jensen's twitter (https://twitter.com/jensen_jane).

The images are also in these folders: Pink Poodle (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_nakSX0fVysQUVlWGZ1ckNTOU0), Muubius (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B_nakSX0fVysZHZJVlZVRWl3U28).

https://youtu.be/Kz5YVW30jD0 (https://youtu.be/Kz5YVW30jD0)

I think that the easter egg could be a reference to the serial killer David Berkowitz:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Berkowitz (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Berkowitz)

Berkowitz claimed to have been obeying the orders of a demon, manifested in the form of a dog ("Harvey") who belonged to his neighbor ("Sam").

Excerpt from a letter by Berkowitz: <<Other times he locks me in the garage. Sam loves to drink blood. "Go out and kill" commands father Sam.>>
