Title: Patch 1 sent to Steam!
Post by: wayens on October 19, 2014, 01:48:39 AM
Steam build has been updated with some important fixes.
Restart your Steam client to get them downloaded to your game!

For the DRM-free builds which require installers, we'll be making them tomorrow and they should be available either tomorrow night or Monday morning.

Let's see what we have for you:

- Changed wording for Continue (this option is only for automatic saves)
- Changed spoiler line for drummer outside police station after learning of rada network
- Various autosave points fixed with more autosaves added to aid in checkpoint play
- Mime puzzle fixed when talking to cop with mime in tow (mime puzzle overall still being refined)
- Narrator subtitles now show if narrator is muted
- Fixed music ducking when narrator is muted
- Fixed misc incorrect audio
- Fixed inventory refresh when checking the manila envelope, the white envelope, or wallet
- You can now press I to pull up your inventory
- Bigger save/load button to fit different languages
- Restored some missing shadows in various scenes
- Fast forwarding no longer looks horrible

And good news!
We've listened to fans of the special content wanting to browse everything.
You can now look at all bonus content from the main menu after beating the game!
Just look for Schattenjager Archives!

On behalf of the whole team, thank you for your support!

Rada drummer is still called rada drummer in the german version since day 1, even if you still can't know anything about rada drums..  :-\

Music "ducks" or lowers when people are speaking.

The new installers are now up on our own store. :) All POStore customers should now be receiving an email notification of the update.

Desura and MacGameStore have been updated as well.

I've received the mail. Thanks! :)

But is it possible to get the Update as a smaller Patch installer that only updates the changed files?
My internet connection is quite slow and downloading 1,8GB again will again taking a few hours. So I would really like a smaller Patch installer if possible.

So I take it if you have a save game that's bugged and you can't finish the day, it will not actually fix the save file? i.e. I still have to restart?

You have to restart from before your bug occurred, not the whole game.
If you know where it happened, you rewind to right before it.  Or at worst, restart the day.

Sorry for that inconvenience.

For me that would mean restarting the entire game.

I can't copy down the cemetary markings on day 3, needed to complete the day. This is because I already performed that action on day 2 (I originally said day 1, but you corrected me, I still get confused because you changed so much from the original!), and it won't let me do it again. However, the item never entered my inventory due to a bug. My options now are to restart the entire game, or use your hacked saves. It took a long time to get to where I was, because I examined every object and person (by holding down space) and tried to interact with them all too. I exhausted every conversation option multiple times with every NPC, and returned multiple times to ask about new topics. Showed every significant item to everyone it might yield a response from.

It's just how I play, and that's not how it was played in the saves you provided. I'm torn as to whether I want to do all this again. I'm likely to forget some of the things I did.

Anyway, are there any further known bugs you are working on fixing for an upcoming patch? If so, I might wait 6 months until the game is final before starting again.

Still nothing on GOG? Is it normal?

Hi, Pingouache, if GoG doesn't have an updated build up, please follow up with their support.
On our side, I've confirmed we have already sent GoG the updated build for them to publish.  They may be going through their own qualification and preparation process still before posting it.
We'll be following up with them too to confirm.  Thanks!

I'm sort of getting impatient for the patch to be posted on GoG, but that's just because I want to play through the whole game (still stuck at the park because of the mime glitch). So take that as a compliment ;)

Same thing here, it really was a compliment!  ;)

Thanks for your answer, wayens.

No problem :), and we got word from GoG today that they'll be posting the update tomorrow morning.  So check your game library then and see.  Thanks!
