Title: The (Semi-)Official Oldbushie Thread
Post by: Oldbushie on July 19, 2004, 10:01:17 PM
Hey all...

I do miss the KQ9 forums, but my tendency towards Obsessive Compulsive Disorder makes me go crazy trying to read all the new psots. :P So from now on I'll just be checking this thread every day and maybe one or two others from time to time. If you guys have anything you want to say to me, go ahead, I'll be here. :)

Oh, and feel free to link to other threads if there's something you want me to read in them, it's just that I'm tired of reading a 500-page book every time I visit KQ9...

Well, I'm not going away any more... I just won't read tons of psots anymore as my brain is going bonkers for some odd reason... don't worry, I'll be here every day now. :)

Well, there's been a lot of real life changes I've been trying to make to be healthier, and that means less computer. :P Plus I've been too stressed to color very fast and Cesar wanted me to either speed up or leave. I might come back to the team after a little while, I finally got an appointment to fix or at least ameliorate this weird condition I have and then if things get better I'll come back to the team. :)

I do still love you guys, really I do. <3 And I'll still be part of the voice roles, don't worry about that. ;)

Thanks all, and huggles to the gals. :)

I don't know if it's okay to have my own thread, but I figure anything's possible in Haven. ;) And it's only semi-official. ;)

On another note...

Hooray! I got a job at Blockbuster! XB

It's only $7 an hour, but at least I'm getting money again. ;) And I'll be able to do it during school as well thankfully.

And my comment was that it's ok for you to start a thread of your own since it's only semi-official...since Q was wondering if we can start our own threads...

Well, it's a little unorthodox to make a thread about yourself, yourself.  But since Bushie made this one for a reason (he doesn't have time to read the rest, so either post here or he never sees it), it's ok.   8)

Yay! ;D

And yep, I'm enjoying the free rentals, of course we're not allowed to get brand new releases so we keep our customers happy. ;) Doesn't matter to me though, as there are tons of old movies I haven't had a chance to see yet. ;)

So how are all of you? Any big news that I've missed?

I just finished my "Methods and Techniques of Behavior Management" class about 20 minutes ago.  The other class is "Psychology of Social Behavior"...which is extremely boring and I still have 8 more days in that class!!

Yeah...it's a psych course.  My other one was a Special Ed. course, but the theories and all--it might as well of been psych.

It looks as if I'm going to have to transfer my mails manually from Windows95/OE4 via WIndowsXP/OE6 to WindowsXP/Thunderbird and eventually Linux/Thunderbird. So I guess I know what I'll be doing in my free time the next few days/weeks/months (besides posting on the KQ IX forum).
It also seems I keep spending too much time on my laptop sorting (by VPN) through my e-mails from work each day, but on the up-side, at least that means I won't have to read them once I get back to office next Wednesday. Besides that, it's not like I have a choice exactly, my department head specifically asked me to keep in touch with work during my holiday, with the fusion in full swing and all.
I don't think I ever had any psych class, but then again, what's a bookkeeper need with psychology?

You could always mess with the heads of the people who check the books... ;)

This past weekend I was at Otakon, a fun anime convention in Baltimore, Maryland. Got lots of cool stuff but now I owe my dad $700 which includes some of the computer money I owe him. :-\ I sure hope I get enough to pay him back in a month or two. ;)

Spoken by someone who's never set foot inside the Dealer's Room at an anime or sci-fi convention before. ;)

I've known people who have racked up more than that at a convention.

I know mine are...but if a guy is color-blind (which I have no clue if Aaron is or not), then I'm sure that causes some trouble.

There are lots of colors on the back of my new(er) pc too, and yet I still managed to misplace the speaker-wire. ;P And no, I'm not colorblind, but the scheme (?) as to where to put that one line on my monitor was a bit unclear.
Normally, I don't need those colors. You see, my old(er) pc has none, so I know exactly where to put all the wires (unless there's six of them all packed together obviously). 8)

Post by: koko_99_2001 on August 11, 2004, 07:01:40 AM
lol...I don't even look at the manual! Moving back and forth to the dorm (including taking the computer home for Christmas break) has had me put my computer together and take it apart probably 6-8 times.  All I do is take one wire at a time and match colors.  I may not be able to tell you everything a computer can do, but I can sure set one up :P

Why would you have to look in the manual if the wires are clearly labeled?
My MB-manual came in rather handy when fiddling with the HD-connectors though. 8)

While the wires are labeled... the board itself in that area is not. :P Mostly it was just a bunch of pins with no writing next to them. ;P

Are you talking about a MB, or does your pc have another board with pins on them that's not the MB?
I think they have colour-coded MB's now too, although mine's probably too professional for that sort of stuff. 8)

It's a motherboard with built-in sound, and there was no color coding on the part where the wires were to be plugged in. It's set up kinda strange. :S

Mine has a built in sound-chip too, but I must confess all wires to the MB were already plugged in when I got the computer. Since I didn't need to change the sound in any way, I didn't look at the way sound was plugged in when I was fiddling with the HD connectors. With my one-track mind and all... ;-D
