Title: Brutus' Thread
Post by: koko_99_2001 on July 29, 2004, 07:17:50 AM
Hey guys!  I posted pics of the tiny kitten and then the forum went down.  So I thought I'd post them again...but this time in it's own thread!  We've pretty much decided to name him Brutus...such a big name for such a tiny kitten to live up to!

He's probably grown a lot by now, though. :)

I don't know...it's been four days since I've seen him...and he was a week premature (short version: mother being spayed at the clinic, baby a week from being born, he lived, we take him home and raise him).  But since he was a week early, I don't know how quickly he's grown.  BTW, these pics were taken on Sunday...so that's exactly what he looked like the last time I saw him.

I can't WAIT to get home!  AND, my sis will be out of town on Friday, so I have Brutus all to myself :)

Aw... poor little kitty, stuck being so tiny. He's adorable, though!

BTW, is that Brutus of the Roman persuation, or the Popeye persuation? ;B

Well, it's actually from "The Cat Who..." books (which I think Lillian Jackson Braun got from the Roman persuation)...which fits, since Koko is the name of the Siamese from the books too :P

Yeh Cat, keep him! beg, plead, roll around on the floor! u gotta keep him...then we can all watch him grow up! it could be like the kq9 pet...oh wait that position has been filled...erm it could be, something else... ::)

Who's the official KQ9 pet??

My sis and I are going to try to convince Mom and Dad to let us keep him...6-8 weeks with him MUST mean that at least one parent will fall in love!  But maybe we can convince them to be temporary parents...until three years down the road when I have my own place  XD  But mainly, we'd have to give him up if he sheds a ton (since my dad's in the ministry, can't have cat hair all over his suits) or if he and Koko don't get along :(

FYI, I just finished feeding Brutus...if only I had a pic of it...it was SO cute!  I'm sure Kimmie and Alex could testify to that! :P

We had our own version of such a fuzzy bundle of hair some time ago, but sadly it didn't survive a thunderstorm when his/her mother thought it was time she took them outside. :-\
Afterwards, the cats we got were raised by someone else, and we only got them when they were old enough to not need their mother anymore.

Don't know what cat-type you have, but ours don't shed tons of hair. Whether or not they get along, depends on how old Koko is, I guess. Our indoor-cat is, I think, reaching old age, so she's obviously too old to get accustomed to changes in her life. Hence, she and the outdoor-cat don't get along, but that's not a big problem, since they only spend limited time in each other's vicinity. The indoor-cat knows though she can't hurt the outdoor-cat, so she just hisses and moves away if the outdoor-cat comes too close (who just wants to play).

We're not exactly sure what kind of cat that Brutus is, but he'll probably be a tuxedo cat (coloring-wise).  Koko's a Siamese, so he doesn't shed all that much, which is why we have him around.  He's also about five years old, but since we're introducing him to Brutus w/ him being so young, hopefully it will work out!

Wait a minute...I just found something:
QuoteMOTE
Haven's Official Pet
Found in the link Neil gave earlier Mote (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?board=35;action=display;threadid=1157)

That says that Mote is Haven's official pet...not the KQ9 official pet! :P Hmmmm

The good thing is, he's only hissed at him twice.  Of course, he's done some growling too...but that was last week.  Now that he's a little more used to him, he doesn't hiss or growl, but if Brutus even touches his fur, Koko's moving out of the way!

Hee! That reminds me of when we first brought my mom's cat Snowy home. At the time, we also had a large 5-year-old male cat named Sonny (noticing a pattern in all my kitty naming? ;P ), and Snowy was this itty little kitten.

Well, we carry Snowy in, and Sonny's standing there looking curious. So we set Snowy down near him, and watch to see what happens. Sonny sort of growls a bit threateningly. Snowy then proceeds to pin her ears back, ruffle her fur, and hiss unpleasantly in response. Our big male cat takes one look at this tiny hissy female kitten... and takes off running in the opposite direction! XD

They later ended up bestest friends until Sonny died a year later. :( So I think if you keep Brutus, he and Koko might get along just fine. :)

Peace & Luv, Liz
