When KQ5 was released, it was priced at $59.95 in 1990 money. Today, using an inflation calculator, that would price it at around $100.
Despite this, KQ5 sold 1.5 million copies. Quite a feat considering the price.

Just that the game was extremely expensive yet still managed to be a big success; it's a testament to just how popular King's Quest and adventure games in general were circa 1990. I just found it an interesting fact, there was no need to get passive-aggressive.
