I bought the game when it launched and everything has been fine. Now, I cannot access my save games because it immediately crashes to Windows. Same goes for if I start a new game. After a few minutes, it crashes to Windows. I haven't changed anything since I last played. Could a recent patch be the trouble? Please help. :(
Have you installed anything new recently? Game tracking apps like Raptr can interfere with Unity games and should be disabled. You could also try disabling your antivirus to see if that's causing the issue.
Is the game installed in the default location? And is this standalone or Steam?

No, I haven't installed anything new recently. I have always had Raptr enabled but it never tracked GK. I'll try disabling the antivirus. GK is installed through Steam.
Try exiting from Raptr entirely before playing, see if that helps at all.
