Some of you already know me as Grundy's fiancee but I have finally joined the forum all on my own!
I think Say will be happy about this? :-*
So I'll actually be able to check up on what jon has been saying about me now! ...

OMFG! The official Laura Thread!
XD
See! Told you, you would become a GROUPIE one day! MUHAHAHAHAHAH!!
Well, let the onslaught of replies begin.
:suffer:
Yippee! First Harrison, now Laura! Now we just have to get Amy to join up, and we shall have sucked all the (known) best friends and significant others into our grasp! Muahahaha!
...er, I mean, welcome, Laura! XD Hee, seriously, nice to have you around!
Peace & Luv, Liz
It's Laura! We've heard so much about you! Welcome!
Welcome Laura! !!!
How was the dinner? ;P
Welcome Laura!
Hope you enjoy your time here :D
HI LAURA!!! Before I say anything else, I have to make sure...
You signed the waiver right? The one that says you won't sue for any psychological damage caused by posters on these forums...
Welcome.
Q's right though, I got turned into a pumpkin, within the first 2 months of being here. !!!
P.S. You don't carve pumpkins, do you? :S

Turned out delicious despite Jon's commentary and trying to keep up with the chat while getting dressed to go out and finishing dinner in 2 mins flat!! :D
(I got to the game late, half way through the first quarter!)
Thankyou all for your replies, you're all so friendly!!
I always used to tell Jon to get off the computer but now I'm hooked on kq9 too! :)
Although I don't think there will be any little grundys to help out getting it finished for quite some time yet....even though they would be cute! Maybe if Jon agreed to do all the nappy changes :X and the 3am feeds...
oh yeah, and re : "You signed the waiver right? The one that says you won't sue for any psychological damage caused by posters on these forums..."
The contact I've had so far with Cesar and Jon (after cesar has influenced him ) has already sent me mad so don't worry about the state of my mental health - it's already far gone...
Hi Laura.
I am James.
Everyone's very silly here.
But not me.
Great to hear you're now addicted! :D
Hahaha, if you can withstand the trauma of Cesar, you can withstand the crazyness of these forums easily! ;D

You'd be amazed at exactly what I can deny!
Possible excuses:1) Everyone is very silly here. I am not. BUT YOU ARE!
2) My account was hacked.
3) It was someone using the same username, sig, and details, but different account.
4) The Cookies (relax, Say...computer Cookies) here allowed my friend and host to check out this website under my account.
5) It was Cesar's fault. (it's ALWAYS Cesar's fault)
6) You're drunk and you're reading things that aren't there.
7) You actually ARE hot. ;) :-*
You're gorgeous J-Roc! <3
I've never thought of myself as being hot ....so maybe you're right and in fact it's all cesar's fault!?!
I actually thought it was so cool when you wrote those other posts cos Jon just always says I'm ugly! hey Jon?!
Grundy: She's my baby ephalant!

As for you not thinking your hot, it means you're not arrogant and that's a good thing! :) Just don't sell yourself short. There's enough gorgeous girls/women on these forums that sell themselves far too short. So no saying your "fugly". :S

Hey, now! We *are* still taking applications for the Fugly Squad. The only requirements are that you think you're fugly and that you have an admirer/worshipper on the forum. Well, Laura thinks she isn't hot, and I assume Grundy admires/worships her, so there you go, close enough. ;)
Peace & Luv, Liz
Who worshipped Storm before me? She was on the Fugly Squad before I worshipped her...
Nobody. Storm was a pending member, and we started looking around to find her a worshipper so she could be a full member, and you randomly volunteered. Thanks, Questie! <3
Peace & Luv, Liz
Oh, well, you know me--always glad to be of service...
Oh, and Laura: glad to know we don't have to worry about damaging your sanity! Remind me to thank Cesar! ;D

I was, and still am, totally appalled with the idea of the Fugly Squad. It's a farce, and I think the women here are far too beautiful to belong to such a "squad". As long as I continue to adore the women here, I will never ever accept or support it. >:(
Ahh. We ladies are not allowed to feel a lack of self-esteem or such, but you are allowed to indulge in regular displays of such?
My dear sir, I do sense a small amount of hypocrisy on your part.
(In other words, I'm going to kick you everytime you put *yourself* down if you complain about us doing it. <3 )
Peace & Luv, Liz
Lol you two!
So if I start admiring/worshiping James, we can admit him into the Female Fugly Squad?! ;B
You know, after all these posts, we were talking about it last night, she still didn't think she was that HOT...
I reminded her, ofcourse, that she's my sexy girl... and she's now slowly accepting it, because now it's not just me saying it all the time! ::)
It was the same thing with her Hair. I said for 3 years straight, "cut it short", and she only did it after a few other friends said "yeah, you'd look great with short hair"... grrrr.... ( Now she never wants to go long again! )
Or how it took a few years to convert her to EarlGrey tea... she never drank it, then one day, "Wow, I love earl grey, annita made me try it today.... etc etc..." ::)
Well, now I can add to the list,
"You're not Fugly! Damnit! YOU'RE HOT AS!" :lovegoggles:

And yes, Jon. I've said it to you before, and I've said it to your ladyfriend before, Laura is gorgeous. So hot, in fact, I've forgotten completely what you look like. :D I'm so <3-less. :D
And her not being influenced by you just means she loves you. Women never want to seem to believe you (not you-you, but the general "you") because they think you're biased. So incorrigable! :D

Yes, women are very strange...
You tell them what you think, and they don't accept it or tell you that you're wrong, even if you genuinely mean it! lol!
And, if you then start telling them what they WANT to hear, then you're still wrong, and mean for telling them such a thing! ARGH! ::)
Example.
Laura: "Do you think these clothes will be fine for my Job interview?"
Now, note how she says "will be FINE?"
Ok, so here are my 2 options, either way, I lose... lol
Option 1,
Jon: "Yes they're fine." ( Me being honest. )
Laura: "No! Don't say they're just FINE! ROARRRRR!"
See, for some reason, if women ask a yes or no question, they wont accept a yes or no answer! hehehe...
::)
Option 2,
Jon: "No, your bum looks fat in them, why don't you wear your black pants instead of jeans." ( Me telling her what SHE WANTS TO HEAR! When I really think she looks sexy either way. ;) )
Laura: "Hey! You're so mean! Do you think I'm FAT!? ROARRRRR!"
And again, see how I just can't win? Even though I normally tell hew what I honestly think, that she's gorgeous and what-ever she wears, she is still my sexy girl, I get in trouble... lol
You girls are a strange bunch. ( Isn't that right Laur? )
;P
:lovegoggles:
;D
PS:
Grundy ALSO
*runs away to avoid a beating from the ladies*
*thinks*
*runs back to obtain a beating from the ladies*
You learn quickly about the beatings from ladies, young Padawan. :D
And uh, dude, third option:
"No honey, you look better than fine. Better than absolutely gorgeous in that attire. You might not get the job because you're going to distract them with your beauty. Sooo hot...dang it, let's have a quickie..." :D
Haha! I'll try that next time!
;D
So how come james knows exactlly what every woman wants to hear and still after 4 years jon can't work it out?!!
ARGGGHH!!
Lol, didn't I say we're just like a married couple? ::)

The only person who loves me is my mother, and she's contractually obliged to do so. :D
I personally mistrust compliments. In my experience, if someone's going to lie about their opinion, they generally lie to be nice/polite/try to get something out of you. So you can never tell if the person really feels that way, or if they're trying to be nice.
Whereas if someone says something negative, they usually either mean it, or they're saying it because they don't like you. So negativity is more honest in interpretation, IMHO.
And then there's Harrison, who I'm convinced does mean the nice things he says, but is kind of rose-colored-glasses deluded, because he compliments me on things that everyone else gives me "don't quit your day job" comments about. :P

Did you ever think maybe he was the one who was right?! I normally like to look on the nicer side and if someone's gonna say something to compliment me I'll be happy about it! I mean since it doesn't really happen that often...
Have you all seen The Stepford Wives? (just saw it tonight)
Jon keeps mentioning it but I already make cupcakes and muffins for him and give him really great....well he doesn't have a lot to whinge about, put it that way!
;)

Ahhh, so that explains why there is no good answer to "Does this dress make me look fat?" ;P
It is hilarious is how accurate Jon was in all that :P and to make you feel a bit better Jon... sometimes there will be never ever a right answer (not first, second or third lol :P)... lol, well that sounded better in my head but I think it wont make you feel any good :D sowwy hahaha <3

I think the problem that people don't trust compliments is that when you get them in every day life, you get a positive note followed with a "but" and then a negative (or many negatives).
As for me, I don't say compliments unless I mean them. Whether you choose to believe my compliments or not when I give them, I will stand behind them.
ie:
Say is stunning and omg so talented. :o
Cat is beautiful and omg so sweet. :P
Kim is gorgeous and omg so funny. XD
Liz is cute and omg so pervy. :suffer:
Laur is hot and omg so hot. :lovegoggles:

I sort of understand Jeysie at some point because Im somewhat the same, (mistrusting complements sometimes which comes as "don't quite listen" :P) you do question it sometimes when someone comes up and say something "nice" to you because past experiences such as: you did trust, you did listen and in the end what was it? nothing but words... that's exactly why I really don't listen to random ppl comment or so to speak "praising", because people just lie for the sake of lying, I went though that with someone I thought would never lie to me, and now forgiveness seems like a never ending long road... I may just never make it but then again I dont think it matters now. So, my point is wether you may want to trust it, believe it, accept it, sometimes it just doesn't comes easy, you just smile and say thanks but in the end they go blind.
For example James should know that when we met I didn't listen to whatever he said :P after we got knowing each other for 8474987543958 I kinda do now :P hahaha, but it's because after you've gone though those things you raise up your shield a bit, and stop being so open or so nice, that's MY case.
Ask poor Michael what he had to go though lol (or what he still goes though) with me... :-X
I agree with everything being said here. I learned a long time ago to not let compliments get to your head, because they are (sad to say) just words. On a similar note, I eventually learned not to let criticizm get to my head either, and trust me, that was WAY harder.
Whether someone's cheering me on, or saying I'll never do something, I don't let it influence me because they are not the ones in question, I am. 8) If they think they can do, act, or even be better than you, just tell 'em to go right ahead and do so themselves and/or redirect the comment back at them. :suffer:
I can just see Neil now...

Neil- Kimmie your stupid
Kim- yes i know :'( the crying would come before the arguing ;D (not that neil would ever say that...to my face) <3 ;P
I hav had a few memorable things said to me in the past which have lead me to doubt my ability and all that...for instance- when my headmaster in primary school said god must have passed me over when he handed out brains...ofcourse as a wee girl of about say 11...yes 11, how could he crush a little girls world! ok she wasnt the most brainy person in her class...but come on! How many of her fellow classmates hav a successful dance group...how many of them are gettin a published poem? And thats all thanx to the encouragement and belief of mainly one person- my mum. she gives me all the compliments i need...if she apporves then i know something is good. she is honest and will tell me if she likes what i have done, or how i can improve myself.
im not a perfect person, im not brainy say in the "academic" subjects, but right now, at my age i feel i dont need to be. I like to be creative, its just the way peoples minds work, ur either super clever or creative...or if ur lucky both!
and i hav rambled on now too much, so i shall cease. BUT...a lot of u guys on here hav made me feel better about myself on a number of occasions, so thanx guys, u know i appreciate it :) <3
The End
Does the fact that Neil loves cookies make you feel better too? ;B
EDIT (By Yonkey): Enough with the sheep. :P
Quoteits just the way peoples minds work, ur either super clever or creative
I have to agree... I'm lucky that I'm academically quite good but i've always wished i could find a creative talent just waiting to burst out!
Jon always thought it was just hiding and needed some encouragement but even after being around him for 4 years and trying to draw things and 'create' it's still not appearing :'(
At least i have something to be thankful for and I'm glad I'm not one of those super-brainy people who end up with amazing brains but no social capabilities ! Have some like that in my physics classes....it's a bit worrying sometimes cos it makes me wonder if they'll have the right kind of common sense to know what to do with all their inventions
Oh yes all the time..i just think about that and the whole world seems wonderful...ly twisted! ;P
I'm not brainy *or* creative, nor do I have many social skills, if it makes anyone feel better. :P Sorry, Kimmie, so much for that theory!
I wish I was good at something creative... I look at all the cool stuff my creative pals do (I have, like, a ton of creative friends... must be a latent tendency for self-torture :P ) and I always feel so totally envious and I wish I could be that good at something creative. :'(
Don't let people get you down, Kimmie. Brainy people keep the world running... and creative people keep our hearts and sanity running! We need them both or we'd be in big trouble!
Peace & Luv, Liz
Quote... and creative people keep our hearts and sanity running!
Keep our hearts running for sure but as far as all the creative people I know they tend to destabilise my sanity more than anything...not that that's a bad thing, I still love creative people <3
That was sweet, Jeysie!!
I know I'm academically successful--but the only creative bone in my body decides to be activated about once in a blue moon, if that often! People like Kimmie, who is able to write and dance, all those who are working on the game are creative way beyond my imagination! And of course, all the musicians...able to compose songs...*sigh* But at least I sing...kinda :P Anyway, there's no way we could make it in this world without our creative people!
And about those people who are SUPER smart and have no social life--there are those who are SUPER smart and have absolutely NO common sense! I know one girl who is super smart and the first time she ever loaded a dishwasher, she stacked the dishes on top of one another, because she had no clue how to load the dishes.
Ok, thought I'd share that funny story :P Enjoy!
Quote from: Kimmie on August 07, 2004, 02:22:06 AM
Neil- Kimmie your stupid
LOL! I never insult people, which is why it's rare for a "friend" to insult me in the first place, making the chances of that whole argument I posted earlier non-existant. XD
I would never call anyone stupid, ugly or anything like that, even if they
were and considered themselves to be. I never brag to people if I'm better at them than something because I can assure them that there's tons of things that they're better than me at.
People have said a lot of things to me over the years. Some of which I still keep in the back of my mind to this very day. I would
never want to become like that teacher of yours and say something that could affect a person's self-confidence for their whole life.
Getting back on topic. I don't consider anyone to be stupid or fugly because they're all smart & secsay in their own individual way. Being smart doesn't mean being very academic. There is a whole range of things to being intelligent (creativity, artistic talent, literature, etc). This also why IQ tests aren't based solely on knowledge. :)
individuality is a good thing! i am glad for who i am now- capability wise, although i wasnt when i was young and a knock like that can make u doubt urself for a long time - is this how ppl view me?
we all have special skills, liz even if ur not admitting it you have special skills that people appreciate and you must be good at your job! we all think your special :) every1 on here is speical to me in some way (the ppl i know and not the "no posts ppl")
<3
Hee. Thanks Kimmie, but sometimes I think the only reason I seem good at my job is because the other two file clerks my business had were really awful. (No, seriously, I could tell some stories! :P )
And keeping Harrison happy is easy... I just have to pay rent, be an audience, and laugh at his jokes. <3 Hee. I'm half-joking, honest.
Peace & Luv, Liz
I'm more of the academic type, which is why I mainly suck in social contacts. ;] Also, my creative abilities are nearly non-existant. :X
Quote from: Yonkey on August 07, 2004, 08:51:25 AMThis also why IQ tests aren't based solely on knowledge. :)
AFAIK, IQ tests are mainly based on logical reasoning, that's why I get good scores at such tests. ::) As a result, I fail horribily at
EQ tests. ;P
lol poor neil, since I'm one of the few that knows him better around here I wanna state clear a few things :P :
1.- He doesn't like sheeps lol :P (not at least in the way grundy says lol)
2.- Neil is a super sweet guy who happens to be quite bright personality, he rarely gets mad that's true, but when he does... oh my :P run for your life. As to add to this point, he never ever let it get to that point he's a smart guy.
3.- Neil doesn't insults people, let alone friends. He's a guy you can trust, great friend, and he's certainly not a psycho (even though he may sound like one... lol it's cuz he hangs too much time with Cesar and myself :D) lol but I sware he was normal :P haha deep down he probably still is :D
About the other point mentioned around here creative people, brainy people and social people :P I have only one thing to say I have more books than friends :P so I don't consider myself very "social" personally, although at work I've been involved with PR all my life, and I would choose being creative over "brainy" anyhow, being intelligent doesn't mean you are creative, yet being creative you can certainly be at least smart. So whichever you may be, embrace it and be happy with it I guess :) Somehow I believe everyone got a bit of everything.
;] XD
Ok, I know this was back on page 2...but....
Laura, the problem with working at youth hostel is that all the hot foreign guys you meet will be a) youth, and b) clientelle. Now, depending on your job at this youth hostel, that could be bad for you know....doing anything except staring. :P
I mean, if you're into hot youth, you could just ask me to visit you some time. XB
(I mean...not that you....er...uh... ;])
(Quiet Questie! Just shut up! >smacks self<)
/me slaps Q upside the head
Just give Questie a smack upside the head and call him an adorable twerp, Laura. That's what the rest of us do! ;D
Peace & Luv, Liz
Unfortunately, that only works about half the time :(
No, Cat, it doesn't even work half the time. See, Jeysie does it because it makes her feel better about me being a twerp. But it doesn't DO anything....
If anything, it encourages me! :P
Well, huff puff! Just when I thought it was making you behave!
