You guys are weird. I like cities!
I like cities...I just don't like
driving through them! I'm fine if I'm riding in the car, but when I'm driving and I'm surrounded by 18-wheelers, I get a little nervous.
I like cities, too....but I also agree with Cat. They can be such a pain to drive in...especially if you don' tknow where you're going.

Before you run over somebody, without noticing it.
You'd be amazed what you do and don't notice in those things.
I have never driven one, but I HATE being surrounded by them on the interstate. I've had several times where one's on either side of me. And at least three times where they've almost merged into my lane on top of me!! I get a little (ok, a lot) shaky right after that happens...
I've never encountered an 18-wheeler (yet). Would you be talking about a truck-convoy (for lack of a better-suited word)?
Anyway, I forgot to mention yesterday both Liz and I would like to have a hybrid car, be it she wants the biggest one, and I want to most environmentally-friendly one. So that's another reason for me to really like her. :-*
No, no, I didn't know the Escape was an SUV, I'm dumb and I goofed. :P
I'd never get an SUV. Not only are they way too excessive for my needs, they're unsafe to drive.
Peace & Luv, Liz
Here 18-wheelers are also called tractor trailors...does that help any?
Due to the size of roads in Europe, you generally don't see 18 wheelers. (in my limited, non-so recent memory of Europe)
The tractor-trailer units there are generally a bit smaller. They only have a single set of drive axles instead of two, and the trailers are often only single axle rather than double axle.
(often, but not always)
As for being surrounded by them, try to put yourself into a position where they can see you, either by speeding up or slowing down. They can only use their side mirrors, and they aren't that easy to see with. (not to say that some truckers aren't complete jerks and drive like jerks, but they are geneally difficult to drive)
The thing is, whenever they DID try to come over on me...I could see the mirrors...and the back of the trucks it says "If you can't see the mirrors, I can't see you"...so anyway, yeah. I still think they want to run me over!
I just hate when big trucks kick up a rock that chips your windshield and you have to get it repaired.
Heh, I don't get my windshied repaired. :)

There's talk about them being allowed on some of our roads though.

Overhere normal trucks that work for the Flemish governement need to have installed a system so they have no blind spot in their rear mirrors. There's also talk of making it mandatory on
all trucks. So I'd guess that if they(tractor trailors) were allowed onto our roads, they'd probably have to have camera's installed to 'cover' the blind spots.

This(http://www.fordvehicles.com/images/articles/news/fullvmild_news.jpg)
is a Ford Escape hybrid.
This(http://www.toyota.com/images/vehicles/prius/gallery/exterior/photo_1.jpg)
is a Toyota Prius II hybrid.
So, do we have a deal about the Prius II being the hybrid car of our choice? :-*
Well, the Prius is smaller, which is good, but it's also pretty ugly. And it's not even ugly in a fun cheesy way, either.
Peace & Luv, Liz
Hehehe....so blunt. XD

That leaves only

one, the Honda Civic Hybrid.
My personal favorite hybrid is, unfortunately, a concept car:

A Mercedes F500...
In the meantime, I thought of yet another similarity between Liz and I / me (?gr): cats. :-*
Eh. They both still look like Volkswagon Beetle wanna-bes, but not as cool.
Peace & Luv, Liz
