Title: The Silver Lining Haunted Castle Experience
Post by: jen on November 04, 2016, 07:39:32 PM
I saw a post on GameBoomers about this...any idea when it'll be released?  The post said today, but I don't see it anywhere.

Also, will it be accessible without VR?

It should be released today. Yes, it's available without VR. :)

Hey, we're used to delays by now.

Hmm... sounds like something that would've been more appropriate last month.  Not that I mind though, since Team Four Star's Hellsing Abridged episodes are always a month late but still hilarious.

Where is the link for the Mac version of the game? Thank you

EDIT:
"with Mac, Linux, and a VR-compatible with the HTC Vive versions coming soon."

I didn't notice this sentence, so it's coming soon  ;)

Yeah... that was the plan. It turned out to be a little harder than expected.

I haven't had time to download the trailer yet buy oh my goodness I can't believe their so close. I just about lost hope. That's why I stopped complaining because I knew it wasn't helping me any. I could almost cry.

I am a big king's quest fan. :)

I watched a youtube video of the haunted castle experience an noticed its in 1st person. Please don't tell me episode 5 is in 1st person. That will ruin the expierence. I prefer 3rd person.

I highly doubt it's going to be changed into a first-person game.

It's definitely 3rd person. :)

And as it turned out, Silent Hills PT was just a preview of TSL Episode 5 the whole time.

Has anyone got this working in VR on the Vive yet ?
I only get a black screen in my HMD, even with SteamVR running. I can't see any ways of turning it on in the options either.

We haven't released the official VR version yet. As our first foray into VR, we're still figuring some things out with it, but we're working on the tweaks to get it in releasable form.

Does the TSL team have any estimates on what quarter of 2017 Episode 5 will be released? I'm going to go ahead and guess late Q3, early Q4.

That timeframe is very likely, yes.

Yay, I'm good at predicting things! I'm a veritable fortune teller! Why, I predict that by the end of this year, I'll have a million billion dollars! Or perhaps a quadrillion dollars if you get hung up on informal terminology!

On a more serious note...could you please not give away the final cutscene in the episode when you release the trailer for it, like what happened with the Episode 4 trailer spoiling the
giant Shadrack head eating Graham in the vortex?
Psst...adding "lol" to the end of your post doesn't take away from the fact that you're still begging like a dog, and repeatedly asking "when will it be done?" like you have been for the past several years isn't going to magically motivate everyone to just drop all of their real-life issues and work on the game nonstop until it's completely finished with zero bugs or download issues. It's not going to happen. Stop trying to exert your nonexistent authority over everyone else and let them release it when they're comfortable with it.

Yeah, what he said. Some of us don't even bother complaining about the wait, and are just very patient and distract ourselves with other games while we wait, after all.

5 years is a long time. I mean a loooong time an it very rare to find good quality adventure games nowadays. There were suppose to be two King's Quest IV remakes an both were abandoned. One person died for the 3D remake an secondly the person who was doing the better remake was scared thinking Activision was going to get involved so now that person is making a low quality crappy game.

I hate when people abandon projects because their scared.
Sorry but I am just impatient an hope the fifth chapter will be done this year.

Regards, Shalkar

And yet you were patient enough to wait a DECADE for episode one to come out. Surely your resolve has strengthened since then? Or do you really think begging and whining and berating the company who made it, when, Activision or not, they have lives to live and bills to pay, and that your comments alone will be the metaphorical whip that forces them to work on it faster or even, Heaven forbid, release it before it's done, giving us a sloppy unfinished product after all these years of hardship to even get the game running in the first place?

Choosing not to spend countless hours on something that may very well be shut down and not allowed to be released seems pretty reasonable to me. Phoenix Online were VERY fortunate to survive two C&Ds.

I'm sure the person who had worked on the "better" remake would be flattered to hear your opinion on their current "low quality crappy" work; also, is this how that woman who died would like to be remembered? Not as someone who made other major contributions in their life, but as someone who worked on a remake of a video game? And not only that, but a remake that not only did some people hate from the start, but she never got the chance to finish? I doubt it.

Well, at least you admit to being impatient. The problem, though, is that it's been repeatedly established in this thread that Episode 5 will be released this year, and as KatieHal said, most likely around the fall season. There's no way the game would be ready as early as mid-March. So either you hadn't read the entirety of this thread before posting in it, or you did read it, but didn't understand it. Please post more wisely next time.

Karen (the woman who passed away) was also a member of the TSL team. :'( <3

The way that Shopify is set up, you unfortunately cannot skip that step even when an item is free. There is nothing that we can do to get around this, or we would do so for the free products, believe me! But rest assured, you will NOT be charged for anything.

Not true.  Work on Karen's 3D remake has been complicated, but is still being done.  And, even though they only have two crew members left, Magic Mirror Games is still working on their remake as well; which Karen also worked on.

Update:  It sorrows me to say this, but it looks as though Magic Mirror Games' remake project has been officially abandoned.  UnicornTales' 3D remake project, however, has not.
