As long as we're all saying nice things about KQ7, I'd like to ask a related question:
I noticed a jewelcase of KQ7 at a computer fair. It had Malicia brewing up a whirlpool with Rosella and Valanice caught in it. Is this the older version where you can only have one savegame and the crystal dragon's tail can squash Rosella if you don't stay out of its way?
I was thinking of getting it (for sentimental reasons) if it was, indeed, the old version, but I couldn't find any online guide to KQ7's jewelcases. Can anyone answer my question?

Hum, according to http://www.vintage-sierra.com/kq/kq7v1.html both versions (1.0 and 2.0) featured the same jew-case. The box art and some of the documentation was different but not the case interest... don't know if that helps but that's what they say... :)

My KQ7 gamebox had Malicia brewing up a whirlpool with Rosella and Valanice caught in it... but someone (about whom I wouldn't say anything bad only because we're related) threw it away :'(
I don't have any pictures on the CD case (nor anything else, it has no inserts whatsoever), and the CD itself looks different than those on the above link - its magenta-colored with a little troll pic on it. Dran distributers :P
Anyways, on the game itself I can have more than one saved game, BUT Rosella does get crushed by the Crystal Dragon's tail (she did that several times when I was playing... darn tail :P) so I guess it's the 1994 release :S
I have the original (or had...I don't where the box is anymore) box cover for KQ7 and definitely got crushed by that stupid tail a number of times trying to get the scale! Grrr.....
Ahem. But in any case, what was the green castle on the second supposed to BE anyhow? That was nowhere in the game!
Well, my KQ7 jewel case looks like that, and you can definitely get squashed by the tail (hee, that was fun...:P)
Hmm. I guess I'll have to be a little more scrutinizing the next time I see that jewelcase...1994, 1994...remember that date, get it if it's there.
