Title: Sierras controversy
Post by: LondonBroiler on December 04, 2004, 08:31:00 AM
I always had a 'thing' for Alexandar.  The animation made him look so hunkified.

Do you think Sierra believes 'sex sells'?

lol, I don't think they believed that in the KQ games.  The games were always intended for audiences of any age, and I don't recall any really scantilly clad women in any of the games. :-\  ;P

The games were also released in the early 90's where sexuality was still a somewhat taboo subject, but was still used to sell in other games, along with violence.  These days sex still sells but probably not enough to make a real profit alone.  Controversy seems to be the best selling feature these days. :-X

And violence, don't forget a lot of graphic violence

Yes, but not King's Quest. Maybe Leisure Suit Larry :P

You're right about the 'scantily clad women' dearth, Yonkey. Though Cassima was certainly quite well animated.  :)  I liked her as the scullery maid in KQV. Very fetching.

But really, regarding the muscles on Graham and Alexandar...who has time to work out so much when adventuring in distant lands?

Adventuring is a very good workout! climbing all those trees/cliffs/ropes really builds up the upper body... so those two don't even need to see the inside of gym ;)

Also, all the walking they did is enough to give anyone more toned leg muscles. XD

Especially if you had to backtrack really really far for one item. ;)

Haha!  The belly dancer was gratuitous too, since she played no role in the game besides groovin to the music. ;P

I can't remember the mermaid in Sierra's KQ2, but based on that game's resolution, I doubt it was risque.  :P
