I didn't see much discussion in the forums about this game. I think it was a brilliant remake, especially the way that it tied up the entire KQ series in a logical way, and the way that it gave sense to all the senseless things in the original KQ2 (for instance, grandma's romance with Dracula, the monks and the werewolves, the antique shop lady and Hagatha, etc.).
How many of you have played it, and what do you think about it?
(New in the forums, btw. Very excited about the project. Glad to be here.)
Welcome!
Yes, I loved KQ2+ as well, especially the secret scenes. ;)
<3 "The Madness of King Graham" XD
Yes, I have played it. It is a very good game, and AGDI is (generally) very much respected around here. I'm sure nearly all the die-hard KQ fans have played it, as well as playing AGDI's KQ1 remake. I'm not sure that it ties up the entire King's Quest series, but yes, it did do a good job of bringing the plot of KQ2 more in line with the later titles, as well as explaining some of the inconsistencies within the game itself.
That said, there are (I think) some perfectly obvious reasons why it is not exactly a hot topic of discussion in these forums, especially of late. First off, it is the product of a different fan-game company, therefore this is not the most natural of places to discuss its merits or whatever else. AGDI has their own forums for that, of course. Secondly, the game has been out for -I dunno- nearly three years by now(?). I'm sure if you look back far enough in the archives you'll find a few threads that mention it. And finally (but maybe not so obviously), we'd rather not attract such comments as, "A 3D KQ game? That's a travesty!" or "AGDI is a better company because they've already released two games!". The two companies and their respective projects are incomparable, period. Such arguments are therefore pointless and vituperative. The best thing would be to avoid that imbroglio altogether.
KQ2+ was a pretty good game, especially comparing it to the original KQ2. :)
The only complaint I had about it was that it opened up a new plotline with the whole "Father" thing. ::)

As a side note off the prophecy question, having played KQ2+ (which I know is unrelated to KQ9), who did you guys think the father was supposed to be? I mean, did you think he was supposed to be Shadrack or did you think he was an entirely original character. Or perhaps more interestingly, was he supposed to be the "Father Death" mentioned in the opening of KQ4 (watch the movie again if you don't believe me). Now he was obviously not intended to be a character at that time, but do you think that's what the people at Tierra were going for?
Just curious for your opinions.
I think Tierra said that The Father was original. As for "Father Death", that was a metaphor. ;P
Welcome Linnau!
I loved the remake, they did a great job on it. If AGDI hadn't remade it I might never had played it. They get extra points for incorporating new aspects into the plot without really interfering with the game itself.
In this game I had a little problem :P. I got the triden but i pressed skip on the challenges and i hear a voice i the background and the shark guards get me it kinda wierd. :'( But can anyone solve my prob ???
mhh.. I think it's a good game too. I haven't play the real one, so I can't compare these two games...
Anyway, it was a fun game!
(just a little question: Why am I a wizards slave?!? It is unfaire  )
:)
Just make a few more posts, and you'll go up in rank("wizard's slave" is your posting rank). 8)
and I probably should play KQ2+ someday... :P

I wouldn't know as I was going for full points, so I didn't skip the little game. (If you press skip, you don't the points. :P) Sorry that I couldn't help you.
Actually It was the only version of KQ2 I did play. :-[
I thought the BCS was good and same with Mannanananananann ;D being siblings to Hagatha and Mordack (although in the originals he already is Mordacks brother) But the whole 'Father' thing confused me because there was never any explanation about it. Oh and Hagatha was UGLY! :)
EDIT (By Yonkey): Forum stretching.
