Option 3: Platform (e.g. Super Mario Bros)

Option 4: Simulation

Option 5: Strategy

I'd have to go with RPG, but I definitely wouldn't consider it a King's Quest game.
Seeing as how you can play MOE as a FPS, there really wasn't any choice involved in this one.
First-Person Shooter
reason?
MoE on crugs (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?board=7;action=display;threadid=516;start=100#msg65838)
Hmm, I guess I didn't word the poll properly. It's now fixed and the votes were reset. :)
I'd say it would be an RPG. But it'd still be different enough for me to rant about it not being a KQ game like I do about MoE. :P
RPG, RPG ............... make it an RPG
RPG.
A platformer, starring the Dangling Participle! ;D
I reckon it would be interesting as an FPS, especially after the MoE on crugs thing XD
votes for strategy
Am I the only one fancying the idea of managing Daventry's resources and waging war on the green isles? XB
I think RPG would work better but strategy wouldn´t be too bad ;)
FPS, because a lot of those kinds of games still have good cut scenes. And items you can walk around and collect.
But what is a simulation game, exactly?
I almost think the first 2 KQs would have made better platformers... they were too 2D to be, uh, 3D. XD I mean, a 3D environment. I dunno what I'm saying. :P

But what is a simulation game, exactly?
SimCity, SimEarth, The Sims, etc. :P
or it could mean Falcon 4.0, X-plane, Red Baron, etc. ;P

Does anyone else think it would be cool if there was an online RPG, sort of like Everquest or something? Then you could wander around Daventry interacting with other players, and perhaps join with a member of the Royal Family and embark on a quest.
Yeah! Love it! ;D
It would also be fun to have a KQ "Sims": Make a Royal Family, or something. :P
That would be interesting. :)
One of the last 3 options :P
But seriously... RPG. It's the 'closest' genre, RPGs can still have nice, plot-related puzzles, and they don't usually require as much hand-eye coordination as the other genres - so there's a chance I'll get to see more than just the first minute of the game :P
RPG is probably the closest; the others though could be interesting..:)
I would have to go with an RPG, but my second choice would have to be platform-based.
 It would be a sad sad world if the genre for King's Quest changed.....

**prepares for the KQ8 rants**
*holds her tongue for the sake of the forum* :P
I would LOVE to see a, say, KQX made like a Baldur's Gate, using the Infinity Engine it would be AWESOME!
I don't like first person shooters because I dislike violence. Which is why I have a problem with moe. I would have to say an RPG would be best. maybe something like Betrayal in Antara, now I can handle that kind of violence.
Betrayal in Antara? Never heard of it :/
Betrayal in Antara (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/betrayalinantara/review.html)
I'd say a game where you go around as the boogeyman and kill people and s***. :suffer:
Platform starring the black widow
I would have to go with... RPG.. it would be the next best thing for a KQ game in my opinion.. then I would have to say Strategy after that....
I'll vote for RPG as long is not similar to King Quest 8 thougt!
RPG would be best, I guess. Still, I'm attracted to the idea of chibi Graham squishing goombas while bouncing around from platform to platform. :D
