Title: Forum smileys...
Post by: Warlock on August 03, 2005, 03:06:55 AM

I'm well aware that the forum smileys are back (yay!) but I still think it's kind of (VERY) annoying that you have to click 'more' to get access to the non-standard ones... like me for example, I have to turn off my pop-up blocker everytime I do that, so it's kind of annoying.. The old way was much faster.. is there any way or desire to have this changed back?  ???

What popup blocker are you using?  It shouldn't block popups that load content from the same site, otherwise you'll have problems with a lot of popup-content.  If you have the option, you could just allow all popups for the site "www.tsl-game.com".

Anyway, I prefer this way because it allows you to see all the icons at once, making adding them to your post just as quick as adding any of the regular icons. :)

Plus, the way smileys are organized now work differently in this forum than the previous one, so creating the dropdown would actually be pretty difficult. :-\

Anyone else prefer the old way to the new one?

Avant browser built in pop-up blocker. As for allowing pop-ups on certain sites, there doesn't seem to be such a function  :-\

I use the Google Toolbar (for IE) which has its own popup-blocker.  I don't even have to allow popups for this site because it's never blocked any by mistake. 8)

Hmm.. try this (http://forum.avantbrowser.com/viewtopic.php?t=11700) and let me know if it solves it.

Well, it would seem the solution, buttttt.. if you take a look at this screenshot (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v521/WarlockXP/lookee.jpg) I think it becomes pretty self-explanatory why I can't do that.. well atleast, I wouldn't know what to remove lol.

I hope you can understand the idea even though it's in Danish ;P

I can't understand it, but is there anything in that blocked list that says *javascript:* ?  ???

No  :-\

That's the thing, if only it was that easy. But it's basically a bunch of mumbo jumbo..

One of them is blocking javascript:moreSmileys(); so, maybe it's *script* or something?

What does Undtagelser mean? ???

I don't know really, I can't find anything like that in the list.. But don't worry about it, thanks for your help so far, but I think for the both of ours sake it would be easier for me just to use Firefox or something.. even though I hate that browser lol, atleast I can just use it for KQIX.

And undtagelser means exceptions, why? :P

Oooh, exceptions!

Ok try adding "javascript:moreSmileys();" to the exceptions list and see if it fixes it! XD

I prefer the old one's way of showing me what I had to type in to result in the correct smiley being posted whereas to now it just shows a generic message. :-\

BTW, I never had, and still don't have, any problems with the smilay-window being considered a malicious pop-up and no, kqix is not an 'allowed' site, but it's not a 'blocked' site either. However, I think the sites that aren't outright allowed are blocked by default. 8)
