Just wondering, does anyone else use the audioscrobbler plugin to log all the songs they listen to? Would be nice to have a little network going and we could try making some kind of KQ radio station :D

I wouldn't really be a good candidate for this, since I don't listen to music that often anymore. Unless it can import iTunes settings... :sneaky:
Of course it can! The plugin works on virtually all media players and simply collections artist and track title to show you a huge list of graphs much akin to the new ones on this forum.

Its pretty useful too, say if you have a certain artist you really like and you listen to your profile radio station (A free streaming radio station like the Yahoo! Launchcast one bar the annoying limitations and subscription costs) it plays artists which have been listed as similar. I've discovered about 20 artists so far I would of known nothing about so im lubbing Audioscrobbler and www.last.fm (its sister site)
Hmm.. it didn't really import any of the songs I listened to. The thing I like about iTunes is it keeps track of how many times you play songs. :P Oh well, let's see what happens. :)
Oh yeah thats the only thing, it starts tracking your song listenage from the time you install the plugin. Even if you have no net connection it caches the songs and uploads it the next time its able to connect. Stick with it though, I think you have to of played 300 or so songs until it gives you any useful data.

Weeee the sites offline atm for a huge overhaul so there should be a ton of new feature coming up pretty soon. Watch this space.
Just a reminder, last.fm is now back online and audiscrobbler will follow shortly! Looks like a pretty nice overhaul to me, although it looks like I need to remkae the KQ group :(

www.last.fm is now up and running with its lovely new site design and the bugs are being slowly fixed. So I invite all members to join the KQIX group I created there. The plus of this is that we can then have the group radio playing so we can all share the music that we so much enjoy and learn about new types of music that you hadn't considered before.

You could just disable the plugin when you're not using it(though that might be a bit too much trouble)?

Them as in Kelseys songs? You have to ask her to send you them :) Audioscrobbler doesnt allow you to listen to any track you want, or at least not the track in its entirety. If it did why would anyone buy music anymore? lol

Uh i have a question: is anyone else using it for winamp because i've lstend to a ton of songs today but it says "No recently played tracks to display" so is it not working or what? :stabs:

After you installed the plugin a box should of appeared the first time you opened winamp to ask you for your username and password on the site. If this didn't happen then try going into the plugin via winamp and see if everythings correct there. If it is then its proabably last.fm being slow, i think theyre still trying to catch up on the backlog of entries that would of been cached since the site was down.

I doubt a name change would be necessary, I'm not even sure it's possible.
If we can't, there is a simple solution(that still requires Alex).
We can make a new group, and remove the old one.
