Title: Coktel
Post by: TheReturnofDMD on September 01, 2005, 10:10:23 AM
Some of you who know Sierra's history might remember Coktel Vision...If not, Coktel Vision was a French company purchased by Sierra in 1993 while Sierra was still owned by Ken and Roberta. It served as an international arm for Sierra and was a game design studio too. Well, after the "death" of Sierra last year, Coktel has resurfaced, but now, it is Children's Game company, a studio of Vivendi simply called Coktel. I think it odd and unfair how they could take a subsiary of Sierra's and turn it into their own studio......

I have fond memories of the gobliiins series  :) what else did they do?

Well, i wouldnt say unfair, seeing as they bought Sierra and all. At least theyre still doing something which is more than can be said for Sierra  :-\

Inca!! great game, probably the most visually beautiful one I've seen at the time... no wonder Sierra wanted to buy them, though it was pretty weird to see the Sierra logo on Inca 2, and having 'Gobliiins' turn to 'Goblins Quest'  :P

I remember seeing the inca box everywhere back in the day but my mom didnt fancy it so i never got to play it :(

Ahhhhh i really want to play gobliiins 3 again now, i loved that game so much, the puzzles were sometimes pretty "WTF!?" but it was so charming and bright.

I think Al Lowe wrote the story of Sierra down somewhere where it explains some things about Coktel.
