Title: Worst/Best Movie
Post by: Deloria on September 04, 2005, 04:27:56 PM
I saw the worst album thread, and I figured there should be a worst movie thread, but just to even things out I decided to also post a best movie thrread. Then I decided to combine them and have this thread.

Best: Legally Blonde 1+2
Best: Pirates of the carribean
Best: The third Man
Best: The last holiday
Best: Gone with the wind
Best: Four wedding's and a funeral
Best: Mr. and Mrs. Smith
Best: Wedding Crasher's
Best: Anger Managment
Best: Billy Madison
Best; The fearless vampire killers (other title: Oh pardon me but your teeth are in my neck.)
Best: The wives of stepford (remake not original-)

Worst: "Monster-in-law"  They let monster/traitor Jane Fonda be in that movie?! After what happened in Vietnam!? Did no one see that movie, that the POW's made?! Plus the plot is totally dry and predictable as are most of J.Lo's Movie's.
Worse: Troy

I thought Troy was all right.  I kind of wished they hadn't demythologized it.  Still, it was pretty well-made, and had some decent battle scenes.

Best Movie:  House of Sand and Fog, Beauty and the Beast, Moulin Rouge... there's lots more!

Worst Movie:  Battlefield Earth (I saw it and LIVED!  :X) and Master of Disguise.

Doesn't this thread already exist? XD

I'm too tired to check, my consciousness hangs in a very fragile piece of flesh. ;P

Best movie(s): Blood Simple, Panic and Breakfast Club

Worst movie(s): Troy, Alexander (and countless LOTR mass battle rip-off movies) and just about every movie that comes out nowadays with few exceptions.  8)

Has anyone noticed that some movies are total (well mabye not total but still) rip-off's of Sierra games? Take 'The brother's Grimm' it was boring and made next to no sense. It was illogical, and the acting sucked. But it looked just like several KQ's!
1.Tree's that move.
2.You have to wave or show an axe to the tree's so they stop moving.
3. There was an axe in KQ4.
4. The trees can kill you
5. Little Red Riding Hood was in KQ2.
6.Hans and Gretel were in KQ1 VGA in front of the ginger bread house-baked.
7. An evil Queen who is obsessed with her beauty. Hmmm, that could just be Hagatha in AGDI's re-make of KQ2.
8. The queen is very old and ugly and can cast spells-Lolotte from KQ4.
9. There is a girl who helps them and they eventually fall in love- sounds somewhat like Cassima doesn't it?
10. The town's are very supersticious and don't like strangers-Mordavia rfom QFG4
11. A girl has been kidnapped - Tanya was kidnapped in QFG4.
Do I have to list any more? Mabye I'm just drawing my own comnclusions and I'll admit I'm not too convinced about Lolotte but the rest is there.

Er, I think The Brothers Grimm and King's Quest just borrow from the same sources (fairy tales, mythology, folklore), not each other.   :)

A new addition to my best list would be...
