The way I heard this riddle was:
"This is more evil than the devil
More powerful than God
Rich people need it
Poor people have it"

I think it made more sense that way. :P

That's how I heard it to.

Here's mine: http://www.deathball.net/notpron/levelone.htm
Though not my own still very challenging. I'm on level two and already stuck. Help!

Just look at the address. Now guess how to get to level3. ;)
Title: Re: riddles
Post by: Deloria on October 12, 2005, 02:55:30 PM
Well I got past level one but how to get into level three is my question. I just posted the link for the first level but I mean generally and not for just that link.
Title: Re: riddles
Post by: Louisiana Night on October 12, 2005, 02:58:36 PM
I know what you were asking. I'm telling you to look at the clue, then the address bar, and think about the connection(altering the address is how some of the riddles are solved). :P

There are two ways of solving it, but I'm naming the easier way.

Whatt about this riddle?

There are two men standing by a fork in the road. One path goes to death and the other one leads to Vivendi giving up. One man always tells lies and one man only tells truths. You may only ask one question to get to the right destination (Vivendi giving up) The same question is asked to each person. What question do you ask?
Title: Re: riddles
Post by: Rosella on October 12, 2005, 03:22:54 PM
You ask what the other person would say is the way to Vivendi giving up, then you go the other way. :P That way, the truthteller will say that the liar will say to go the wrong way, and the liar will lie and say that the truthteller will say to go the wrong way as well.

Title: Re: riddles
Post by: Rosella on November 15, 2005, 02:42:00 PM
Free! If you're free, you can roam the Earth. You can give freedom, but you can't buy it. It's rare to find true freedom, but everyone wants it.
Title: Re: riddles
Post by: Storm on November 17, 2005, 05:56:40 PM
YES!!!! you are CORRECT!! ;D

I admit it's a bit confusing, but it's just 'Free', not 'Freedom' -
One who is free can roam the earth, something that is free is (by definition) given and not bought, and it's rare to find things that are free, but everyone want them ;)

The riddle is from Clandestiny (http://www.mobygames.com/game/windows/clandestiny), a great puzzle game from the makers of The 7th Guest and The 11th Hour. It's a lot like them, except it's much more humorous and has cartoon graphics instead of FMV.

This is ESPECIALLY easy because of the time I'm posting it. If you don't know it, ebil. ;P

First think of the person who lives in disguise
Who deals in secrets and tells naught but lies
Next, tell me what's always the last thing to mend
The middle of middle, the end of the end
And finally give me the sound often heard
During the search for a hard-to-find word
Now string them together, and answer me this
Which creature would you be unwilling to kiss?
