Title: King's Quest Companion Question
Post by: telepathic_cat on December 15, 2005, 05:59:41 PM
If anyone here but me (probably everyone, actually) has read the KQ Companion, do you remember those chapters between each game about 'The Eye Between The Worlds'?  Well, I was just thinking, why did the writer of the book write about Manannan's computer-looking thing?  And what does that alias that the 'Inhabitant Of Daventry' used mean?  Just wondering...

"Greetings and Salutations from the world you probably never suspected existed! It is a place where sudden violence and death are never far distant, where rewards come from bravery and cunning, not from killing. It is a realm where human- and not-so-humanfolk spend their lives free from the constraints of disbelief. It is a place where anything is possible and everything could be true. We have no name for our world, our universe, but you may call it Daventry if you like. We think of it as home.

My name is Derek Karlavaegen. I am a writer here, scribling stories about the current events of the day, which are then published for the information and amusementof whoever cares to read them. I study the magical arts daily and, while I am not so practised as to pass myself off as a professional sorcerer, I have achieved enough proficiency to have attempted to contact your world. I suspect an explanation is in order.

We here is Daventry are your own descendants-the sons of your sons and the daughters of your daughters, from generations and century's back.
