:)Hello-
I have never played King's Quest and wonder which I should start with. I only like point and click games and is this a problem?
Thanks
Jeanne ??? :D
Welcome jeanne59! :D
If you only like point and click games, then I'd suggest King's Quest 6. ;)
I concur with Racx, KQ6 is a great place for you to start with the King's Quest series :)
Unless you want to know the whole story, from start to finish. If that's the case, then start with KQI. :P However, I played the games for about ten years before I played them from beginning to end.
Kings Quest 1 has an (unofficial) exact point and click remake by AGDI (http://www.agdinteractive.com) if you don't want to try the parser versions. There's also a remake of KQ2, but it has alot of added content, so take everything that happens with a grain of salt. :P
I'd recommend KQ5. It's the first point-and-click and it's also what I started with and got me hooked. However, KQ6 is also excellent, so it really doesn't matter which one you start with. You also might want to check out the Library (http://www.postudios.com/archivedTSL/library/) for information on the games.
Personally, I think you should start with KQI. It doesn't matter what version you wanna play, as the same story is told either way, and for the most part, the solutions are all the same.
KQVI. It would help if you play the earlier games first so you understand all of the story, but it is not completely necessary. Also, I think that KQVI is the best one in the series. BEWARE: This game will get you hooked to KQ!
I agree, for KQVI is the one that got me hooked. ;D
KQVI is a very good starting point, it's the first one I played (I think) but be warned these games are addictive
All of them rock!
KQVI is a wonderful game,I advise buying the KQ compilation if it ever comes out :P, You might want to try KQV aswell, but you don't appreciate it as much unless you know the whole story.
I think KQ6 is the one to go with. For me, it was my favorite, but it might be best to start with KQ5, as KQ6 is a continuation of KQ5. So you best start with that, and move your way up from there. But I have two warnings: They are extremely addictive, and MoE is one to avoid. It is more action/adventure than adventure, and very challanging. I do not recomend MoE. Any of the others I highly recomend! I hope you choose wisely! If you can't find these games, you might be best getting the KQ Compilation, which is due the 30th of this month, although I get the feeling they are going to be delayed again... Just a feeling... You can find them on many sites, one of which being http://www.amazon.com

KQ VII was fun also but I would skip KQ VIII if I were you. ;)
