There are some Sierra traditions that don't deserve to be continued.
It's actually a real pity that Sierra stopped making adventure games when they did. By the time of Torin's Passage and King's Quest 7, they had finally figured out how how to take the stupid out of their games.
Welcome Jothki! ;D
Someone was saying a couple weeks ago that KQ7 actually has a dead-end in it:

You're only allowed one visit to Dr. Cadavers as Valenice. That visit has to be after you spoke to the fates about sleep. If you talked to him before the 'Dr is out' sign will be hanging on the door. You're going to have to restart the chapter becuase of the Autosave button. It's a dead end.

Although I never actually managed to figure out what to do there (I looked it up later, but by then I had lost access to the game), didn't you have to sleep twice? To avoid spoilers, once to discover the problem and once to fix it? I'll have to look it up. That sounds like a bug, anyway.
I should look at a guide anyway, I never figured out the rope option in the first chapter.
Nope. You only have to go to sleep once, to solve the problem, you go to Dreamland while awake.
