Title: Nationstates
Post by: Louisiana Night on March 26, 2006, 10:43:35 PM
I've noticed several forum members are a part of NationStates. We currently lack our own region(a place just for KQIXer nations), but if enough people show interest... ;-D
You don't need anymore time than a few minutes a week(if you choose that setting), so it's not exactly time consuming.

NationStates (http://www.nationstates.net/) for the "game" or NSEconomy (http://nseconomy.thirdgeek.com/nseconomy.php) for economic details. ;)

Current KQIXer nations(remove "of" and everything before it, when doing searches):
The Empire of Adventing Chors(Raforever, Equilism)
The Empire of Adventing Chors Colony(Raforever, The Silver Lining Region)
The Armed Republic of The Master Mind(racx_00, Equilism region)
The Confederacy of The Wandering Nights(Louisiana Night, Equilism region)
The Constitutional Monarchy of Aibengail(Deloria, The Silver Lining Region)
The Queendom of Creativity Urbana(Lollotte, Allied Regions of Middle Earth)
The Grand Duchy of Homana(Zelly, Allied Regions of Middle Earth)
The Free Land of Aquaeridus(OldBushie, The Silver Lining Region)
The Armed Republic of Poffwee(Petra Rocks, The Silver Lining Region)
The Armed Republic of Fallsdom(patrick83301, The Silver Lining Region)
The Free Land of The Asylum Manager(copycat, The Silver Lining Region)
The Kingdom Of Supernatural Cats(telepathic_cat, The North Pacific)
Empire of Afornia(Throckmorton, The Silver Lining Region)

If anyone knows of other nations I missed, tell me so I can add them.

Wave your flags proud and high! :D XD
(http://s2.excoboard.com/forums/1413/user/23559/290266.gif)
The Wandering Nights is ranked 11th in the region and 8,876th in the world for Stupidest Citizens. ;P

Note: Any and all posts relating to RL(real life) politics will be deleted without notice. Have a nice day. :)

Despite its label, this game is more of a spoof or parody that a simulation, all trends are hopelessly exaggerated.  To quote the game FAQ

Quote

Q. Why is my nation so weird?

 A. Everything is exaggerated a little. Well, okay, a lot. Your decisions affect your nation very strongly, so your country might seem like a more extreme version of what you were aiming for. Unless you have radical politics. In which case you probably think nothing's wrong.

Countries start out "normal" but things change and I doubt you could find a nation around with 200+ million that didn't have a weird tag like that.  ;D  I gave up on normal long ago and accepted it as a silly parody.  ;)

It's been like that for several days now. My government seems to have trouble passing these laws through parliament. There must be fierce opposition work. 8)

I'm just staying in my role as government leader of 'the Free Land of the Asylum Manager.  I didn't chose that type of nation for nothing, you know? So as ruler of a nation that adheres freedom very high, I have trouble choosing such a nation as UN delegate. My nation may have a corrupt government (for now), but it's not that crooked. 8)

You must mean when we had that invasion when we were the featured region. However, they did not stay long. I have several nations listed in my NS-dossier that are totally and utterly black, i.e. inactive and most of them I got from this thread so you're probably correct about the dead ones. :-\

I have it set to three issues a day, and when I started recognizing old ones I lost interest. XD I'm really good at remembering whether I've seen something before. :P

Though... I'm sure that if I were to radically alter the government I'd get a lot of new issues...
Ah, I'm only getting one issue each working day. I don't go there daily, but at least once a week, so they won't have to stop sending me issues because I already have five.
I don't think the type of nation alters the kind if issues you get. I think 'it's 'one issue fits all'.

No, there are some issues that are clearly based on how your country is, like the ones that say "let your people vote, dangit!". :P

I don't even have to read the issues I already know what I wanna respond with. Some issues are appearing every other day for me. :-\

That soon? If OB's correct, that means there must be little issues for your type of country.

I get anything to do with voting and spending the yearly budget. :-\

Of course, (almost) every decision a real government has to make, has its reflection on the budget, so why would it be otherwise in NationStates?

Usually you get more than the "It is the beginning of a new year, would you like to spend the yearly budget on:

-Military
-Health
-Environment
-Space Travel
-Education"

That's the one I get just about everyday. A few months ago I was getting more variety. :-\

I got my first double issue! :o
Until recently you saw me shooting my waste into space on my nation page. Now it's gone, and I get the same issue again about what I want to do. :-\
