Title: Scroll bars
Post by: copycat on March 28, 2006, 02:07:06 PM
Why are there scroll bars appearing in posts, even when they have absolutely no use?

I saw a scrolly bar thing in a really long post, but that's it.

If the procedure I wrote down for linking to a post is still valid, this (http://www.postudios.com/blog/forum/index.php?topic=1151.msg152756#msg152756) should work.

Oh, and besides appearing in posts where they are of no use, the horziontal also appear on top of a following line of text in a post and with no vertical scroll bar, meaning I have to select the text to be able to read the following line. :-X

Hmm, I checked that post in both IE and Firefox and didn't see any scrollbars on that page at all. :S

I think I have an idea about what's causing it, but could you tell me if you still see them now?

I took a screenshot of your last two posts in this thread. That way you can also see the scroll bar on top of your second line of text in the first one of those two.

PS: I'm having trouble with my internet connection at the moment, so if the upload of the attachment failed, I have uploaded it to my website too.  Here (http://home.scarlet.be/~pin22973/scroll2.png) is its location.
PPS: I just noticed the attachment upload didn't fail, , but better safe than sorry. :-\

Ok, they should now be gone.  I was trying to get scrollbars to only appear when the forum is stretching, but:
- they didn't seem to do anything on IE
- they partially worked on Firefox (at least the Windows version)
- they worked a little TOO much on your browser ;P

So, it's best to just keep things how they were before. 8)
