The point of grammar is to make words flow well, and I don't think that rule does that. It's the same with words like band or staff having to be treated like plural nouns. Yes, they refer to multiple people, but it's ONE band, or ONE group of people!

i like #5.
try putting the camera on a tripod and setting it on a timer. then dive into the shot at the last second with your tongue out. land on something soft.:P or do what say said and use a mirror.
