I used to love Myst, and so I thought I'd make a thread in tribute to it! I'm still playing Revelations! XD
I didn't like Myst. The puzzle thingies were kind of illogical, and the first person-ness scared me. XD The graphics were really good, and even though I didn't understand anything, I liked exploring! :D
The puzzles were hard! But I had what they call a strategy guide! (I don't think I've ever played a game without the guide! XD)
Some of the puzzles in the Myst games practically require a strategy guide by default. ::)
I love Myst though, but probably not as much as Zelly does. Rather than play the games myself, I usually end up watching her play them. The books are good too if you’re into Myst.
My favorite character has got to be Achenar!
*Does Achenar impersonation.* XD
You and Zelly know each other in real life? no one lives by me! :'(
But yeah, the guides do help a lot. My dad never liked myst, but somehow I'm able to talk him into helping me!
Zelly and I are siblings, so I have no choice but to know her in real life. :P
We've tried to get our brother to play Myst, but to no avail... I can't even get him to try KQ.

I tried using a walkthrough and I still didn't know what I was doing. I get all uncoordinated with 1st person things. XD
I personally don't like 1st person games. They never interested me!

That makes sense! Sorry!
I like myst, but it's kind of hard to do most of the puzzles!

So you don't like 1st person yet you like Myst? :P
Anyway, I love Myst! For me, the Myst series is tied with KQ. I've played the first three games and just started on Revelation.
Okay. Fine. most 1st person games never interested me!
*has tried playing Myst, to no avvail*
*is selling Myst at garage sale*
Uru is making a semi comeback. :D
now they just have to figure out lag.
I think I purposely scratched Myst out of spite. XD

:o :o :o :o :o
How positively ebil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It breaks my poor little heart.
I still have trouble understanding how someone could not like the Myst games, books, and soundtracks.
I' still on Myst 5. I probably could have beaten it ages ago, (no pun intended) but then it would be over... :'(
I just hope that Uru does make it's comeback. I was a bit late for Uru online, so I feel like I missed out on a lot.
What do you mean by semi comeback?

Well, there's an official unofficial server for Uru... no constant updates or anything but Cyan has control of that server and they're testing how many people are going to be using it.
Oh... I see...
I think the series just died after Riven. :P
True... Riven and the original Myst were good, but after that, it was kind of downhill. I liked Riven especially!
Myst and Riven were great, but the others aren't bad.
At least Cyan came back after exile.
I know!

Two words: CD Version(or three if you want to get picky about it ;P )
:P
The CD is what they all come on, isn't it?
The ones that require multiple CDs also have DVD versions(The 2nd and 3rd in the series). The CD versions required a lot of disc-swapping(especially the second, if my memory serves me well).
Oh, yeah! I Remember now! Almost every game similar to that is exactly the same! It's so annoying!

You've given the problem
and the solution within a couple of posts... :P
I stand by my opinion of Cyan and Myst!
Did you hear that the first Myst is going onto the PSP? It will be in Japan and Europe, and America is probably next. (Now all I have to do is get an illegal import XD...)
