Finally, The Silver Lining has arrived! XD After months of planning and hard work, the KQIX website has evolved to the TSL website. :)
This new site has a hot new design, new features and new updates! Everything from layouts to the forum have been updated, including a few more smileys! :thumbsup:

Wow. I'm really impressed with the new website design and overall look of TSL! It looks awesome! :)
But...for a big update, I learned a dissapointingly small amount about the actual game TSL itself... :(

Yeah, the guy who designed it left the team a while back. I was thinking of removing it entirely, but we might make TSL Skins in the future, so I figured it's better to just update that section and only remove the old skin once there's a replacement.

We who work on TSL the game have not seen this updated website before the fans and we are huge fans of the PR/web department for all their hard work on this! The new website looks awesome and I can't wait for more cool updates in the near future.

I'm gonna have to say I liked the forums better in blue.
While cool, this one is too...I dunno, dark yet vibrant, if that makes sense, and it's admittedly a little painful on my eyes, which means I can't browse nearly as long as I could before they start bothering me :(

The site is nice. I ;D especially like the team/fan page. :thumbsup: It shows how truly diverse and world wide this project it. KQ is more world wide then I thought it was.
While the site looks nice it seem a bit too dark, :evil: I must confess I like the blue theme batter. It seemed to fit better with the “now unofficial†KQ theme. The header bar also seems way too big. It takes up half my window. The new additions to the forum if very nice. :yes: Keep up the good work.

I LOVE IT! This site has become even more amazing...and I now have more time to enjoy it (although not much more :P)! The whole ribbon concept is really beautiful. I'm on my way to catch up on posting and read the journals and look at all parts of the site and... ;D

The new shapes in the design are cool... but I hate the color red! T_T Please put in an option for what theme we can see the site as, Yonkey! (At least the forum part, I don't mind the outer frame around the forum.)

I have the same issue...the dark colors are fine, but it's the brighter reds and oranges on top of it that are a little too vibrant...and a too-light-on-too-dark effect can sometimes put a straing on one's eyes...I'm getting it too.
I like the overall look, but for pepole with sesitive eyes, it's not as read-friendly as the blue one, which had a more neutral color balance to it, if that makes sense.

lol don't worry, it happens every time. I've just gotten used to it by now. XD
If it's just the red gradient that you guys are complaning about, then I could darken that, since I designed it with when the rest of the forum colours were way too bright and eye-straigny. As for the rest, you'll eventually get used to it. 8)
I'm using a laptop, so things are actually quite a bit brighter than when I browse on a CRT, and still I don't find it too bad.
Well, the text box when you type is a TAD bright...so you might want to try darkening it...but only a suggestion :)
Hahaha, yeah, that's actually another one that I forgot about doing the final adjusting for. XD
EDIT: There we go, much better. :) Sorry if you still find the red gradient too bright, but I can't make it any darker without it screwing up how it looks on the forum index page.

I also just fixed something someone mentioned earlier about the header taking up too much screen real-estate. His suggestion actually serves a functional purpose (less mandatory scrolling and therefore quicker access to information), and comparing the previous design to this one, he was correct that it was taking up a bit more than it should. 8)

Yeppi! :thumbsup: That was my two cents worth. :idea: It is smaller. (What about 25%?) I honestly hadn’t noticed it until you mentioned it. It’s better, I still think it could stand to be smaller. Maybe adjusting the buttons so they don’t hang down as much.

Hehe thanks! :D Say picked em, but I would say the red is pretty symbolic (e.g. love, passion, heat, etc). For the forum colours, I chose something more "blood" coloured, since anything brighter just looked horrible. :P There's even a lot of other concepts like the letters TSL being silver rather than gold, the outlines in the forum having a "silver lining", even the forum text is in a light grey rather than pure white. The yellow/gold represents royalty, the crown, adventure, etc. It's pretty much an essential to the KQ series and that's probably why a lot of people find this design way more fitting than the previous. And the black, well, like you said: darkness, evil, etc. :P

I am very excited about the release of this game, I am a big fan of the originals. The website is good, can I make a suggestion though It would be really good if there was a news section that contains all the latest updates with everything that is happening with The Silver Lining, ordered chronologically, with dates attached to them. It would make it much easier to follow the game's progress.

But they said that the bata testing would not be publicly announced.
Only those whom POS chooses will be permitted the esteemed task of beta testing.
Maybe they're already beta testing. All the beta testers have might have signed a confidentiality agreement and have to pretend like they're still waiting for the call for beta testing.
I don't think POS would hide the fact that they're beta testing. Though, maybe if there's a confidentiality thing then they can't. I also don't think Shadows is done. ;P

First of all, we wouldn't hide it. Second, Shadows is not fully completed for
beta testing just yet. Third, the event is going to be to gather everyone up and discuss the future of the game as well as of POS and such. So far seems to be interesting enough, we might have some special guests and all ;)

I like the red very much. It's the color of passion and love, and that's exactly what very many people have for this project and the people who make it happen. It's therefore appropriate IMHO. I like the new layout a lot. Great Job!!! ;D

I admit that when I first saw the new design, I went "Ewwww!!! It's RED!! Like BLOOD! What look were they going for, 'DOOM'?? :o"
But then I got used to the change and got over my general dislike for red color schemes, and now I have to admit this design looks better than the previous one... the whole 'jeweled throne' theme is much more KQ-related :D

lol, you should have seen the forum colour scheme in their early stages. :P The red was so bright we felt like we were going insane. XD I actually did find it quite a lot harder to work with shades of red rather than blue, just because it's a more intense colour and contrasts quite a lot more with black (which makes up about 50% of the site) than blue.
In any case, it didn't take me long to get used to the new forum. The site design itself I loved from the moment Say designed it, especially the silver rollover buttons and the TSL logo itself! ;D
