"We eat ham and jam and spam a lot!" *whistles*

*hides any and all incriminating evidence of dubious happenings*

I realized the last time I played it that you could forgo the ice-deaths! XD (by reciting the message of the rose, but I never realized that before hand :'( :P)

Yup.

Just type "Love is my shield" as soon as you get into the first ice screen.

Yeah, but it's annoying to think of how many times I died, when I could have easily used that, that's the only time in the game when it actually works :P

I really need to find better walkthroughs. ;P

I couldn't find that in a walkthrough either. I just noticed what Gwenhyver said and tried typing the message of the rose on every screen. You can only use it in that place, because it doesn't work anywhere else and you lose it on the ship.

I always got stuck real early in the game as a kid.  I think there were some monks or something. It wasn't long after the boars. :P

There were.
The monk makes himself appear as three people. You have to try to kill him. You can only hurt one, the other two are illusions and can't hurt you. Try to get a monk alone and see if he's the one.
