Title: Do you like Chrono Trigger? Good. Do you like to read? Excellent!
Post by: Master Gyrus on July 10, 2006, 02:18:11 PM
Greetings from a fellow fan project.

http://www.chronotrigger.info/ (http://www.chronotrigger.info/)

Come along with us as Wayne Kramer retells the mind-boggling story of a group of time travelers and their mission to change the future. Based off of the hit SNES RPG by Squaresoft (now Square-Enix), our goal is to publish an enhanced version of its story (definitely one of the game's strong points) in the form of a novel for more people to enjoy. The novel's project exists to spread the word, gather support, and get fans to sign our petition (an actual handwritten petition, mind you, not an online one) asking Square to grant us permission to publish this piece of work.

I am the leader of the committee's support team and am a huge fan of both KQ and CT. When I discovered The Silver Lining, I was both surprised and excited. I come here to tell Bittar and the rest of you that you have the support of the CTNP, and I would be delighted to see any CT-lovers here show equal support for us as well as another group that seeks to have Square remake the game for the post-SNES generations to enjoy.
Go here for more info on them : http://vizzed.com/ctremake/ (http://vizzed.com/ctremake/)

For those KQ fans who haven't played CT, take my advice: get it and play it to the end. You'd be hard pressed to find another game like it. While you do that, I'll answer any questions.  ;)

Hello Master Gyrus and as Yonkey said:  Welcome to the TSL Forum :suffer: !!  I checked out your project, and it looks VERY interesting.  I am a really big fan of CT and would love to read the novel when it is completed.  Thanks for informing us of this!!  ;D

Oh, it's my pleasure, and I'm glad to hear that you find it interesting. We have the first four chapters on our site in the fan section, and I recommend that you take a look at them if you haven't already done so. My friend Wayne is always looking for feedback, so if you have suggestions (or if there is anything in the chapters that turns you off), don't hesitate to contact him.
Also be sure to visit our forums occasionally. They may be smaller in comparison to a site like Overclockedremix, but we have some pretty interesting discussions there.

Also I believe before too long the demo chapters are receiving a complte overhaul, so if you check them out and don't like them, you might want to have a reread once the overhaul is done.

Interesting project you guys have here. :)

Thanks and welcome hikuro! ;D

I personally never have enough time to sit and read books, but for your project I may make an exception. 8)

Actually, if you guys ever consider making a TV or movie-adaptation of your novel, I would definitely be interested in seeing it! ;D

So would I. ;D Chrono Trigger would also make an awesome anime series!

As far as the novel goes, I'd love to read it, but I think I'll wait for it to be completed rather than read the demo chapters. That way I don't have to worry about stopping in the middle of the story. ;)

Holy WOW! A CT Novel! All my dreams are coming true!!!

Good luck though, I tried to write something based on the game and I ended up getting bogged down by all the details I wanted to include. :P

I will definately give it a looksee later though.

Thanks for letting us know.

Oh no! I'm allergic to huggles!

Well...that may not come for a while. A movie/anime would be nice assuming it was done properly, but we should currently have our attention focused only on the novel before getting knee-deep in something like that. If there's one thing I have learned from being a writer as well as the friend of the writer trying to make this novel a reality as well as the son of a writer, it's that these things require time and discipline.
Although I guess the team behind TSL could say the same thing, now that I think on it.  ::)

Eh, if you say so. But technically speaking, you wouldn't even come close to finishing in the middle since the chapters we have displayed to the public end just as Crono and Marle are arriving at Guardia castle after their first little journey to the middle ages.

Anyway, you all simply must send our team your signiture for the petition. One signiture may not seem like much, but you must remember: Every-single-one-counts, and if you just simply print out a form, sign it, and send it to Wayne, you will have my eternal gratitude. And if you have any friends who like CT, get them to sign as well.
Wayne may have gotten pretty far right now, but if Square can't see the support, this novel will not be possible.  :'(
