Little trivia question:

What city was once a booming hub of comers and held the regions largest and best University but upon it’s downfall became known as the middle of know-where?

Any other guesses before I give out the answer? ???

Actually it did work. I found it that same hour but wanted other people to post. Nobody did and I forgot to get back to it.

Here is what I found.

it's the full moon occuring closest to the autumnal equinox... if memory serves it is sometimes orange in color as well
Title: Re: Shades2585's Thread(e)
Post by: Shades2585 on October 11, 2006, 07:12:05 PM
The Harvest Moon is no ordinary full moon; it behaves in a special way. Throughout the year the Moon rises, on average, about 50 minutes later each day. But near the autumnal equinox, which comes this year on Sept. 22nd, the day-to-day difference in the local time of moonrise is only 30 minutes. The Moon will rise around sunset tonight--and not long after sunset for the next few evenings.

That comes in handy for northern farmers who are working long days to harvest their crops before autumn. The extra dose of lighting afforded by the full Moon closest to the equinox is what gives the Harvest Moon its name. In the southern hemisphere, this week's full Moon behaves in exactly the opposite way: there will be an extra long time between moonrises from one evening to the next.

Try looking at the Moon tonight (Edit - Last week) when it's rising in the east. You might notice something funny: the low-hanging Moon looks very big. This is a trick of the eye known as the "Moon Illusion."

After six long years in production the Quest for Glory 2 remake has finally commenced its alpha testing phase! This is the second-last stage before releasing the game to the public. Alpha testing began last week and a steady stream of bugs are currently being reported and fixed. This is an exciting time and we're looking forward to showing the results of our hard work to eagre QFG fans and gearing up for the release of one of Sierra's most loved classics.

We'd also like to share a new music piece, composed for the game Tom Lewandowsi and based on the original QFG battle theme by Mark Seibert. Click here to listen to the new and improved TerrorSaurus Battle Theme in mp3 format!
Battle Theme Sample (http://www.queststudios.com/qfg2vga/QFG2BattleThemeSample.mp3)

I'm looking forward to this game.  8)

For those who like Wing Commander, http://www.wcnews.com will be having their birthday Friday night and they usually come out with a lot of new things found and created. (And giveaways for answering trivia questions.) I will be submitting some things I've been working on tonight and will hopefully make it in time for the party. So if anybody would like to see what I've been working on pop on over there. I think it starts around 7 EST and they updated the page later that evening.

During my my daily reading of funnies I got a little side tracked and found this. :o

Anybody who has read any Drow books or seen many pictures of them would notice the design similarities of her dress.

And of course it is a very beautiful dress as well
