Will you be uploading it onto your CPU to edit it? If you do, then most programs will allow you to save it to a DVD (Pinnacle Studio 10.7 Plus, I know can do it. Windows Movie Maker can't.) There might be some DVD making utilities that are free. You also might be able to just put it onto the DVD and pop it into the DVD player....(I honstly don't know if this would work, but it's worth a shot.)
Which program are you using?
This is a rough outline of what you should do though:
1. Turn on camera and connect to the CPU via Firewire or USB.
2. Turn camera mode to "Play".
3. Open up video editing software, and click on capture video.
4. Click on Start Capture.
5. After capture is finished, edit movie.
6. Disconnect camera.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask! And just out of curiosity, what type of camera are you using?
Windows Movie Maker.
Its a Sharp VL-E620U camcorder. I borrowed the camera from a friend, and I don't have the equipment to hook it up directly to my computer. She can usually transfer the video to a vhs, but whatever she uses to do that is currently not working. If I can get onto a DVD, will I be able to get the movie off the DVD into or Windows Movie Maker, or do I have to take it directly from the camcorder? ???
:-\ You'll have to take it off of the camcorder to get it into WMM. The bad thing is WMM doesn't have a built in DVD thingeh. The other bad news is, unless you're telepathic, you'll need the cords to get it onto the CPU, or any other format for that matter. If you have a cord with the red, white, and yellow plugs on the end, you can plug that into your camcorder and the red, white, and yellow plugs into a vcr and record directly to a tape. Unfortunately, it wouldn't be edited. :-\
