Here's the US version...Its beautiful artwork once again, I've loved the artist throughout the series, though I was hoping for a darker cover...

I like it! It's nice to see a picture of Harry that doesn't look goofy. :)

I wonder who those shadows are in the background... Death Eaters, perhaps? Or friends?

Is the UK cover out yet?

They're probably Death Eaters in the background, as a description of the rest of the US cover talks about how its a rap-around and Voldemort is featured on the inside jacket.

Adult's cover (http://www.thesnitch.net/site/images2/hp7adult_low_complete.jpg)

Makes the Slytherin locket look really beautiful...I'd buy it as a collectable...Heh.

Children's cover (http://www.thesnitch.net/site/images2/hp7childrens_low_complete.jpg)

The fact that the UK(children's)cover chooses to include Hermione and Ron, that tells me they'll be prevelant in helping Harry on his Horcruxes quest.

EDIT (By Yonkey): Forum stretching.

T'anks Tess!

Hmm. So that looks like too many people to be Death Eaters AND they don't seem to be wearing hoods....I also wonder where it is they are? Looks like an ancient theater or something....

It looks like they're standing in rubble from buildings or something....Perhaps the final battle? And from the UK Children's Cover here's something I noticed.

I can't wait either! :D
I'm counting down the days!
Sadly though I will probably finish it within like 3 days and be all said because there aren't going to be any more books after this one. Every time I finish a series I always feel like I am saying goodbye to a dear friend.

Speaking of "Saying Goodbye", I was listening to a podcast of two people talking about the cover art and one of them brought up that on the US editions, there are curtains framing the covers on ONLY the 1st and 7th books, symbolizing opening and closure.

I'm not all that excited at the moment, but I probably really will be once I've reread the series and get back in to it.

I do that too! I always look forward to finishing the series, to find out the end and to have completed it, but I also hate for it too cause the magic ends.

I never would have noticed the curtain thing. That's really cool, and very... gah, I can't think of the word/phrase. forward thinking? ??? of them.

Symbolic and poignant are the words they used.

Interesting find, possum! I wonder if that's Kreacher or Dobby?...Oh and did you happen to notice that whoever that is, happens to be holding the sword?

I'd say it's Kreacher, since Dobby doesn't look that old or mean. XD

And thus my hopes were dashed that this would be the cover:

Actually if you look at the full UK cover (http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/gallery/dhuk), it appears like they're in Gringotts.

Good point! All that gold, it's gotta be Gringotts!

Yeah, or Sirius' vault. But don't you think when Harry went in the first time they would have mentioned LOADS of mountains of gold?

Well maybe it's A vault and not necessarily HIS vault, so someone insanely rich, maybe has a horcrux in their vault.

EEeeeeeee! I like the UK cover the best but thats probably because I'm slightly biased. I reckon its gringotts as well and harrys arm is looking a bit worse for wear too!

I actually prefer the US cover, although you can glean more from the UK one.

I'm torn between the US cover and the adult version. :P

I'm actually torn between all three (UK adult, US, UK childrens) but I do think I like the UK children's one the best, even though it's a tad cartoony looking...When I first posted it on my lj someone made a comment that it looked alot like they were "robbing Scrooge McDuck's money bin" and I almost fell out of my chair I was laughing so hard.  ;D
