So Google's released the beta for what looks to be a pretty revolutionary web browser. Is anyone using it? (And if so, what do you think?) Any reasons for switching/not switching?
I've been using it for about 5 minutes. It lets me resize the text area I'm typing in! XD
I've heard about it but haven't tried it yet. It took me a long time to switch from IE to Firefox, and I'm pretty content with it so I don't think I'll be switching any time soon. :P
So far it's pretty buggy. I use it, because it loads pages twice as fast as Firefox, but it also uses more system resources (At least on my computer) so I guess you have to consider what you want most, faster computer or faster browser? XD
No, I'm a cranky old dinosaur who refuses to accept change. :P
NETSCAPE NAVIGATOR FOREVER!!
I downloaded it but I only used it for five minutes or so. For now I'm completely content with Firefox. :P
Yeah I was on Netscape for my entire web browsing years until 6 months ago when I started using Firefox....I'm not about to switch again so soon :P
I can't even remember that last time I used netscape... probably in school before they switched to IE many years ago. :P
According to wikipedia, the Q2 2008 stats are:
IE: 78.30%
Netscape Navigator: 0.06%
Netscape/Mozilla/Firefox: 16.36%
Opera: 0.81%
Safari: 3.41%
I currently have IE, but I've been thinking of switching to Chrome if it's any good, or to Firefox otherwise. I just fear I won't make my mom & sis happy with the change :P
I was joking about Netscape Nevigator... XD
Wow I would not have guessed that IE is THAT dominant...I find it annoying to use.
I hate IE very much. Sadly, my friend doesn't know the pleasures that Firefox brings (just to be clear, I'm using Safari right now because I'm in school. They upgraded to Mac OS X Leopard over the summer, and the computers have been very slow since. Firefox runs like a slug on them, so I use Safari instead...) I downloaded Google chrome and it's got some good features, but it does slow down my computer a bit. It's also quite buggy for me. I really hope the stable version improves upon the beta. Though I must admit the beta is pretty good regardless.
Quite frankly I think Firefox is a more of a resource hog than IE is. I use Opera and Chrome, I'm thinking of switching over to Chrome completely at some point, probably when it is less buggy. 8)
I really like Opera a lot. It's a very good browser...
Opera forever!!! :D
I think Google Chrome is a step in the right direction, but it needs a couple more features before it's as powerful as Opera. One can be both powerful and have a simple interface.
I was kind of hoping google would've announced the supposed Operating System their working on, but Google Chrome is good enough I suppose. I never really expected them to announce a web browser. I haven't used Google Chrome too recently though because of how slow it can get on my computer.

The only reason it seems that way is because it is integrated into the OS. If you look at it as part of the OS, IE is the biggest resource hog ever! :P
