Title: The Longest Journey: Good or Bad?
Post by: DancingMagicDance on December 30, 2003, 04:52:27 PM
The Longest Journey.

In your opinions, good or bad, handsome or ugly. The savior of the adventure genre or just another fish in the sea. I bought the game yesterday. I must say, it is the most awesome game I've ever played. It  has a deep and conplex plot, and is not linear so far. I can actually say (forgive me) that it is better than any of the King's Quests, to which it has been compared. The only game in the KQ series which is almost as good as this is KQ 6. I love the game. How bout you? Do any of you believe this game could bring back the adventure genre, or at least this and other games? Maybe it'll be like Baldur's Gate was for RPGS: A game that didn't save it's genre, but brought back much interest in it, and others like made the genre a household name again. Also, the graphics in TLJ are like a modern and advanced form of the old VGA graphics in King's Quest 6 or 5.

So, Good or Bad.

I agree it was a *great* game. :)

But...only better than any KQ game.....yet.    ;)

TLJ is the last masterpiece I've played before Broken Sword 3, which I've played recently. It was an awesome game, and yes, better by far than any King's QUest out there.

But like Katie said, maybe not better than KQ9. KQ9 is deeper than TLJ, and that's saying a lot ;)

TLJ was a *GREAT* game, but not the savior of the adventure genre, I'm afraid. :(

Yay for TLJ! :D

I've played that game like 2 or 3 times, kinda long to play a lot. ;) There are a couple tedious points but the overall plot, graphics, and humor are awesome. :D
