Yes, folks, I have finally done it. ;D I downloaded a whole ton of software on my computer to see if it could be done. :) It took me 3 hours, but I have a nice little yabb forum set up on my computer that's accessible from the internet. :) Now I just need to set up all the info and stuff with the help of Yonkey perhaps. ;)
Wow, you got the MySQL and PHP setup? Nice! :D Installing the forum is probably the easiest of all three installs. 8)

What browser are you using and what trouble did you get? Did you make sure to use the latest link?
I tested it on Opera, IE, Netscape, and people from 4 or 5 different states/countries, it should work fine.

Sorry, I was having freaky problems with my computer for a while and had to shut down the server thing for 24 hours just to make sure things cleared up. :-\ I'll be on all weekend though (with minor reboot minutes of course). :)

100 megs at the most, unless I decide to make my own webcomic someday. ;) Then I'd need 10 gigs just to be safe. ;)
I do recall someone on this forum suggesting a very good webspace, $30 a year or something I think it was.

I don't know a legal way to get that kind of space, without spending a good deal of money($30 sounds cheap, but I've never seen that low a cost for 100mb of webspace).
I can recommend a very nice webhost that could give you 250MB for $120/year, but I don't know any as cheap as $30/year off-hand.

I just remembered I have a good friend hosting webspace at 500MB at $10/month. If you really only need less webspace, he's the sort of guy that might be willing to negotiate a bit.

I think I'll go with midPhase, that's the best choice so far after crossreferencing about 10 top ten lists. Coincidentally, it is also KQ9's webhost. ;)
I still have to pay a lump sum for the year, but at least the service is better and they present their information a little more clearly.
Heh. I dunno. SpaceQuest.net and Sierra Music Central are hosted on my friend's server, and neither they nor my sites on my host have ever gone down as much or had as many problems as KQ9 has recently. :-X

Well, I'll use midPhase once I have loads of money, but for now I found a decent webhost that lets you pay monthly for not too high a fee. And it has a good amount of room and such.
