Title: Journal
Post by: Say on February 29, 2004, 03:27:28 PM
FINALLY!

we have a space to discuss everything related to the features kq9.org provides to fans. www.postudios.com/archivedTSL/journal (http://www.postudios.com/archivedTSL/journal)

In first place I wanted to let everyone know that we do have a special section for directors and assitant directors to keep serious post, progress, some interesting stories and a lot of unspoken things you dont get to find out so easily, its a great feature that is being kept updated as it goes, and to keep informed on it you can either wait for the monthly update and newsletter or continusly check the feature OR just hang around here where you can freely discuss the current post or something you would like to see discussed in there.

Anyhow, the new thread of journal is open please feel free to comment your thoughts on the current posts, and such :)
Title: The Torque engine
Post by: B'rrr on March 09, 2004, 06:48:10 AM
If I read Chris Matuszewski's jounal post correctly you're abandonning Crystal Space for the Torque engine, right? (or isn't this certain yet?)

Does that mean that Crystal Space is no longer a required skill for programming positions, but knowing how to work with the Torque engine is?

Thnx for the information Chris! ...I was just wondering 'cuz I would like to join (or try to ; ) the programming department once I graduate

I don't know anything 'bout either engine so I was curious which one I should get to know better. I'll keep my eyes open ; )

The conversation helps explain how Alexander will be in KQIX ;), I was wondering if it would be like that ;D
Title: Re:Journal
Post by: Say on March 29, 2004, 07:25:41 AM
Im glad you liked the journal entries :D

btw, I opened this thread and you can consider ask the directors about specifics, (sort of like what cesar did with the explaining of the name, someone actually asked and he went and made an entry with it) you can also suggest ideas, or ask them directly, even if the other directors are not around I will address you request personally to them ;-D

Thanks for the journal posts, Rich & Cesar!  :D
Nice dialogues... Graham should have a talk-show ;)

It's nice to know that conversations here are being heard and regarded ;D

Title: Re:Journal
Post by: Say on March 29, 2004, 07:45:39 AM
but of course... as long as I exist I shall annoy the crapz out of other directors for it... I MEAN... be the link of conection... and stuff hahaha :D
Title: Re:Journal
Post by: Yonkey on March 29, 2004, 08:34:20 PM
Yup me too.  If there's a question someone asks that I don't know and would like to know, I usually find the respective director and ask them.  But, if someone asks a question and the answer's a spoiler...  :suffer: Hehehe  ;D

Hee. I personally never really expected an "official" response on the matter... I just like talking about Alexander. ;)  8) Getting to read a few of the conversations was very cool, though, gives a nice little snippet of the "feel" of the game.

Ok i have just one question ;D, will there be a KQX ???
Title: Re:Journal

*waiting for Racx to make KQX*  ; )

regarding to PFO (http://www.tsl-game.com/info/phoenix/) they say that they will continue making games in the future... just not which gamez ; /

Title: Re:Journal
Post by: Storm on March 30, 2004, 11:50:59 AM
I don't think THIS team is going to make another KQ after this one. They said KQ9 is supposed to tie all the loose ends and be a conclusion of the series, so there'd be little point in making another KQ. Plus, they'll probably want to make their own original games rather than keep making fan games  ;)

So theres definitely going to be a new project after this one. Care to give us any idea as to what your considering? I doubt you'll tell us any specifics since nothing is set in stone and you prefer us to "suffer"... but can we atleast count on another adventure genre game? Please say yes! :)
Title: Re:Journal
Post by: Jeysie on April 07, 2004, 09:01:21 PM
Busy brainstorming for a subtitle, Bushie? XD

Anyhoo. AFAIK, the KQ9 team isn't going to make another KQ game. Doesn't mean that nobody will, though. ;)

Peace & Luv, Liz
Title: Re:Journal
Post by: racx_00 on April 08, 2004, 03:39:18 AM
i think he was referring to the fact that they should make another adventure game even if it isnt a KQ ;) :S
Title: Re:Journal
Post by: B'rrr on April 08, 2004, 03:52:43 AM
...or any game, cuz i thought they wanted to make non-adventure games too (could be wrong though)
Title: Re:Journal
Post by: FataliOmega on April 08, 2004, 10:07:52 AM
yeah, me too. I play strategy games too, but to be successful with that you really have to be competant. I must admit I doubt a team that just finished an adventure game could build and balance a good RTS. You really have to be a strategy game fanatic for success on that one.  8)

And voice recording is starting too! Can't wait to find out when we get to go. (Although I kind of hope ours is in July or September... August might be a bad month. :-[ )

Now that I think about it, I do have a couple questions.

1. Who's this David O'Neill fellow? :D

2. Can Mike sing a few of Alexander's lines? (I know, I know, I'm dreaming! ;D )

Peace & Luv, Liz

I was just reading the cast list in the journal and I can't remember...who is Atroll?  Maybe it was just a troll?  The rest of the names I think I recognize.  I don't want anyone to give a spoiler or anything, but who from KQ7 was Atroll?  Thanks.
Title: Re:Journal
Post by: Cez on June 11, 2004, 11:54:19 PM
explaining exactly what he is would be a spoiler. But he's really from KQ7, only inspired by it.

He's "A Troll"  ;)

Thanks Cesar!  I was just curious.  That was the one name that I couldn't place.  Just A troll.

At some point they'll likely show the NYC auditions, so you can get opinions from someone who isn't biased in the matter. ;) In the meantime:

Oh my, Jeysie, I don't think I've ever caught a sample of Harrison speaking!  We definately wouldn't fall asleep listening to him!

BTW, has anyone else noticed that we have not been told who has been cast as Valanice?  Is it because she hasn't been cast or because she plays such an intrical part to the plot, they're not telling us who it is?  :P

I found the omission of Valanice's actress a bit odd as well. Hmm.

As for Harrison... unfortunately his voice isn't as sexy as Yonkey's ;) but I still find it agreeable to listen to. :D

Personally, I'd kind of like to see some progress report-esque stuff. Not anything detailed necessarily, just a general summary of how each department is progressing. (I know you mentioned in another thread that you were waiting until things got more settled to do such a thing, but honestly, if you want ideas for journal entries, well, that's my idea. ;) )

Of course, fun anecdotes on what it's like to be a KQ9 team member would be cool, too. Hey, weren't some of the other NYC visitors going to write up NYC stories at some point too? ;)

Peace & Luv, Liz

Heh, it's funny that you mention the progress thing, because I was just discussing that with Say a bit earlier tonight.  We decided that we will post more progress updates soon. XD  Preferably in the Journal, but if not then at least the Forum.

As for NYC stories... that's up to the discretion of the Directors that went.  XB
